Okay so our auditions are in a week. We are a girl guard, the last guy was very extremely gay, and graduated two years ago. Now my friend Michael wants to join. Mostly because his girlfriend is in the marching band. I've taught him lots of things. But no one really wants him to join. It would kind of ruin things, but it would be cool to have a guy on the guard. Even though he is a little odd/perverted. THOUGHTS???

Let him try. If he's good who cares about opinions. You can have just as tight knit guard with a guy than with all girls as well. We got one straight guy in our guard, and it's awsome. Probably because he cracks jokes about his manhood. But it was so neat learing how he joined colorguard.

We have consistently had two guys in our program since, basically, it was started. Next year will be our first year with only one (veryverygay).
The guys add a different dimension to a all-girl guard and it's really awesome. It's worth the "discomfort" or whatever.

There are indeed guys in our Guard. Oddly enough, I am one, and speaking from experience, I don't think I've managed to ruin our guard yet. I say let the fellow join. What harm could he do? 3nodding

You know, I couldn't really tell you. This will be the first real season with a guy in our fall guard, and he's turning out to be a real jerk... He's already missed a practice because he "didn't know there was practice." That's a bunch of BS because we've all been told when the practices are, not to mention we all have schedules. He's also going to be missing some of Band camp to record with his no-name band. And His girlfriend, who just recently graduated and was in the band as well, isn't doing anything to stop him. It's completely rediculous and I'm really angry because he's the male soloist. what kind of crap is that? >.<

guys cant do much harm other than breaking the no dating other guard members rule or not wanting to wear make up
