Caleten rose early, even having a stable place to live had not brought her from that habit. Another thing that didn't change is she did not linger in sleep, she was up and ready to defend herself from danger even though she knew there was none. Looking around, she saw her little gold snoozing on her pillow, and smiled. She had a little time before the gold woke and demanded food.
The time would be brought to good use, dressing was always good use. Now that she didn't have to worry about defending herself so much, she had changed her normal wear. Instead of those hot thick wool dresses that covered every inch of her body, she felt free to take comfort first. With the weyr being so helpful, she had been provided something suitable. The sleeves to the forest green tunic, cut low but not enough to show the top of her sizable chest, came down to a little past her waist and had leaves that reached her elbows. The pants she was given fit at the waist, and went to her knees for the hot summer. A belt held the pants up, but was not needed, they held up on their own. The light shoes were a nice comfortable change from her bulky shoes.
She had just enough time to finish up in the Necessity and brush her waist length auburn hair before Gem was up and chirping rapidly for food. Offering her flit her uninjured shoulder, the other one had seen a healer after she left N'tren's company. The cool air kissed her exposed body and made her slightly loose tunic flutter a bit. She felt so comfortable, and at ease now that there was no reason to fear, that she didn’t bother hiding a smile, or hiding in the shadows.
Making her way into the kitchen, she watched the sun start to wake up as well. At the door, she paused a moment, then walked in to see if there was anyone to help her get food for the hungry and persistent golden flit.

Splotch trilled happily as the sun rose over Rias Weyr. He was in such a good mood that he had to share with everyone how right the world of his was... Perching on N'tren's head, the little bronze nipped at his owner's ear.
N'tren muttered and swatted at the bronze. He was still in the mood to sleep and stay in an unspoken, pleasant dream. When the bronze nipped at him again, he sighed and sat up suddenly. This caused Splotch to take to the air and sing happily. Glaring, N'tren rolled out of his furs and stood up.
"Can't let a body get any sleep can you?" N'tren muttered.
If you sleep any longer, you will become one with your furs. Datiath replied lazily as he stretched out on his ledge.
"You are one to be talking, lazy bones." N'tren snorted back. He headed towards his bath area to scrub up. The teen was barely alive until he was clean and had a cup of klah in him. It was a bad habit that he had picked up from the other riders. Dressing in his brown leather pants, calf boots and open vest, he made his way down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Spotch flitted around, trilling and chirping silly things. What could cause the little bronze to be in such a great mood? N'tren wished that the little one would share the wealth. Stepping into the kitchens, he looked around to see who was there and where the klah was...

Caleten had a drudge bring a bowl of scraps for her flit and klah for herself. She watched her gold fly over the drudge, showing off and trilling for food to hurry.
The activity of the kitchen was a bit busy looking, then again when the weyr would wake soon; it was good to be prepared. Doing the best she could, Caleten stayed out of their way and kept Gem from being too much of a pest.
By the time the bowl got to her, she had finished her Klah and light breakfast. She was going to leave with the bowl when she saw N'tren enter the kitchen. Smiling, she greeted him, her tone was hyper, but it was happy. "Good morning, N'tren. Hello, Splotch." Wanting to try it out, she tired to reach Dataith, "Dataith?" Normally, he started the conversation, but it was worth a try.
Gem grabs a piece of meat from the bowl and eats before trilling happily to N'tren and Splotch. Flying over them, she trills more and flies a few circles around them before going back to her food. Both, apparently, were morning people.

Good morning. Datiath rumbled. I am going for a swim and then to dry on the ledge.
N'tren perked up a little at the smell of klah. He really was addicted to the stuff. He heard his name and turned to see Caleten in the kitchens. He blinked and rubbed the last of the sleep out of his eyes. "Caleten? Morning!"
He wondered if he managed to keep the shock out of his voice.
Splotch, on the other hand..er claw, was absolutely thrilled to see Gem and Caleten and his vocal greeting was evidence enough. The bronze landed close to the bowl of food and hopped over to Gem. He chirped and looked piteously at the scraps.

Caleten was surprised, and happy to receive the response from Datiath. She nearly nodded, until good sense had her back and she realized he wouldn't see it. Instead she bid him, 'Enjoy the sun; I'll be out to see you at least once to day.' With that, she gave his rider her attention back.
She could have sworn she heard shock, but brushed it off. Instead, she just smiled at him, her expression considerably warmer from one she had shown him form when they first met. Her smile grew a bit as she heard Slotch's greeting. Watching him, she left Gem alone to be nice.
Gem was, she bobbed her head and trilled to him letting him know she would share. Following that affirmative, she got her self another scrap to eat.
Caleten, wanting to see if the flit would eat right from her hand, grabbed a nice juicy scrap and put it right in front of the bronze. Having fed Gem many, many times, she did it in a way that she'd keep her fingers.

Splotch looked over at the gold and then looked at the juicy tidbit in Caleten's hand. Trying not to look desparate, the bronze walked slowly over and turned his head sideways to snap up the meat. He sent much love to her.
N'tren recovered and came to sit at the table. He waved over a drudge and grabbed a cup of klah and lots of sweetner. Shaking himself awake, the bronze rider looked over and smiled. "You seem to be doing a lot better, Caleten. Settling in nicely?"
Datiath bobbed. See you soon.

The drudge had only brought enough for her gold she called for more before leaving them to eat in peace. Walking over, she took a seat at the same table as N'tren. It still felt awkward not being covered so completely, but on the same coin, the hair felt so much better now that it could touch her arms and legs. It did not bother her one bit that all of her scar was shown. No matter how friendly she was, the pride she had in her self was still completely expressed.
Nodding she told him, "I am, for the most part." This was a huge change, now, she was used to living in a safe place for a day or two; however, that was vastly different from this. Here, she was perminet, or at least will be here for a while. Not having to hide anymore, being accountable for her behavior, well it was a less fun part. For the first time, it mattered that she follow rules, for the most part. This was a place she'd have to find her place, or go the way of a sun-crazed wherry. Besides, no matter how much she may feel tied, without a true place, betting on her staying here is like betting against a Bitran. She heard Datiath, but did not respond this time, she would see him shortly.
Gem snapped up a few more pieces but did not appear to have much of an apptite, at least she ate less then what she normally did.

Now that the klah was making it's way through his bloodstream, N'tren perked up more and wiped the sleep away. Splotch was so happy to be fed and was looking at Gem in a curious way. His eyes were a curious shade of dark blue-green as he rubbed against Caleten's hand. Grabbing some citrus and a warm bread, he looked over at his friend.
"Have you eaten yet? I'm glad to hear that you are settling in. Do you have everything you need in your room? Where did you end up at?" N'tren managed to talk between bites and not spatter food anywhere.
Splotch was practically a puddle of flit. He had leaned over, and when Gem did not object, grabbed one of the more bloodier pieces.
"I have no idea what is up with him. He was up this morning singing as if the world was created for him."

Caleten petted the little bronze, puzzling over both of the flits' behavior. Her flit was being much more reserved in her actions and not eating the amount she normally did. The dark blue-green shades of Splotch’s eyes were stunning, but she didn't understand their meaning.
When N'tren spoke, she pushed off her musings, figuring that it was just a silly little flit thing and nothing to be concerned about. Nodding her head slightly to the first question she answered the next few, "Yes, they put me in a nice room on this level, took a while but I managed to convince them to empty it for the most part. It had too much for me." Going from someone who had nothing to being given anything, anything she didn't feel she earned or bought, it didn't sit well with her. Pride would not allow her to take hand outs beyound what was senisable.
Gem did not object, just laid down with her paws crossed. She trilled a few lines to everyone in room. Otherwise, she didn't move, she prodded lightly for something else, something live.
Caleten puzzled and finally said, "Gem is acting bazaar as well, she woke trilling and moving around, now she has barely eating." After all this time, she thought she understood her flit, but perhaps there were things she is far from understanding

"Too much? Really? Those are the types of rooms that are at holds and crafthalls... But to each his or her own." N'tren shrugged and munched his way through his fruit.
Splotch was practically rubbing himself all over Caleten's hand. His eyes were practically a rainbow of color and emotion. He trilled back at Gem and fluttered slightly.
N'tren wiped his mouth and thought for a second. "I have the day off today. I have been getting more and more of those lately. Would you like to go to the cove or someplace?"

Caleten wasn't looking at N'tren when he spoke the first time; it was Splotch that had her attention. Her eyebrows were brought together in puzzlement. She gave him attentions, rubbing his sides and belly. In addition, she gave his eye ridges scratches and asked N'tren, "Did you give him too much candy or something?" He was acting so strange, and then again, so was Gem.
Come to think of it, she felt weird as well. Maybe they just needed to walk outside for while. With N'tren beating her to the punch, she responded anyway, "Spending the day outside sounds like a great idea." Standing up, she moved to collets her gold.
Gem let Caleten pick her up and didn't do much to move on her own. She trilled her eyes were slowly whirling, emotion behind them building at a slow pace.

Splotch chirped sadly at the end to the scratching and flew to N'tren's shoulder. The little bronze kept one eye on Gem and the other was slightly closed. Curling his tail around N'tren's neck, Splotch simply waited.
N'tren shrugged again. Between Gem and Splotch's antics, the bronze rider was unsure what was going on. He felt fine and couldn't understand what was going on. Reaching out for Datiath, the teen tried to catch his dragon's mind.
What is going on here?
The little ones are in a mood. Was all the Datiath could respond. Are you both coming to see me?
N'tren nodded, though his dragon could not see them. "Where did you have in mind?"

Caleten looked at Splotch a moment, and then shook her head. Flits were funny creatures, explaining them is harder to do then winning against a Bitran. Instead of saying anything, she petted her gold.
Thinking about it, she says, "Due south, there is a nice little pool, mostly untouched by travelers, it is well shaded and deep enough that Dataith will probably like it. We could go there." Walking out side safe and comfortable, she was looking forward to it. Rather then wait for N'tren to respond, she walked out of the kitchen and walked to the weyr bowl, thinking that might be the best place to at least see Dataith.
Gem remembered the place, and trilled her approval, she liked it there. It was always cool and there were lots of fish in the water. Above all, it was somewhere even Caleten felt safe in.

N'tren followed after her, still looking at Splotch with great curiosity. Walking out into the weyrbowl, the sun was out in full force. N'tren covered his eyes and looked around before spotting his bronze.
Is there room for me to land at the pool? Datiath asked.
N'tren looked down at his vest. "Is it within flying distance? If we have to go /between/, I need to change my top."

Caleten stopped a moment, like a dragon, sunned herself. She only allowed the wonderful moments of the sun bathing her for a few moments before moving on. Her skin seemed to rise to the sudden warmth of the sun, it felt so great to have the warmth beating down on her skin like a gentle feather covering her whole body.
Hearing Dataith's question, she told him, 'there is about enough room for you to land in the pool, but yes, there is plenty of room.' Taking a moment to look at her own attire, she bit back a comment, feeling in just too nice of a mood to say anything about the obvious. "It is within flying distance, depending on how fast Dataith can fly, we'll be there within an hour." It was almost a challenge; she almost wanted to make it a complete one. To see just how fast the bronze could go would be interesting, but she wasn't going to ask it of him.
