Ok my friends are getting engaged or married rapidly, I have 4 currently.
I personally don't think people should get married in high school or just out of it. People change (We live to long to decided at 17/1 cool and if you really love them you can live with them a few years and try it out. Granted i know in the past it worked out. however, I think marriage can wait a bit.
What do you all think

I've decided not to worry about getting married until I'm out of college or at the very earliest in my last year.

well personally i dont think theres a problem with it if their relationship is mature enough and if they really love eachother. im in high school and when im 18 my bf and i are getting married. we know that we want to spend our lives together. when u meet the one that u know u want to b with forever u'll understand. i know it may seem like we're too young but really that depends on maturity.

Ah, I feel like such a hypocrite on this one. Most high school marriages fail, and I think most high schoolers are too immature to understand that marriage is more than just simply, "I love you, you love me, let's tie the knot." Then again, I've been going out with my boyfriend for over two years, am only a Junior, and really really want to marry him, and could see us living together for the rest of our lives. He, being the wiser and less flighty one, says however that we should wait to get engaged until at least halfway through college. Which, in the end, is a wise decision, no matter what my fickle women emotions say.

Most married couples I know that are still in high school got married in the first place because the girl got pregnant. I think it's sad. You're basically throwing your childhood away. And why would you want to do that? neutral

i suppose its has been happening more and more. and especially now since things that once proved love now have become more and more common among teenagers particularly. as its already been stated most high school marriages fail and generally within the first few years. primarily because those "tying the knot" often dont take the time to figure things out. all marriages are expected to face something like a "7-year itch" in which the couple just gets to where they see each other just a little too much. and for people who just married on a whim its harder to work out the problems that arise. but when you see marriages in high school be it in your life or on the MTV show Engaged & Underage you see some problems but you dont see what really happens afterwards. thats part of the reason that its so much easier for teens to look at it and say "Well our relationship is stronger than that, and I truly love you. Will you marry me." and they only see what goes wrong when after its too late. of course word never gets out of this marraige gone awry and if it should get out its usually someone sayin that they were being held down and just had to get out and people see it as still a good thing or look at it and pick at all the flaws in their relationships without looking at their own and they still dont see the bad side to it. so i guess wat im tryin to say is, yes it is becoming more of a kinda extreme love-proving fad now .
