I've heard it said alot that people belive Irkens are shorter than humans because the gravity on Irk is far greater than it is on Earth.
My own theory, however, is that Irkens grow with knowlege and acomplishments. When they are smeeted their PAKs are hooked to a large machine that forces knowlege into them (The Trial) and thus makes them taller. After a while the learning stops and those who have stayed the longest are naturaly the tallest of the group. They go on with training for their particular jobs, and altough it's much slower, they still grow. When the Tallest is killed, the next tallest irken is taken to have ALL knowlege forced into him at an extremely high rate.

i dont think so... but good idea ^^ i think not cause almost all the tallest (red and purple) ever do is eat snacks, lol but anyways they take orders from the control brains so they dont HAVE to be smart i think they use biological engineering or the brains choose one and use a stretching rack >3

Here's mine, and it's nerdy and long.
Irken growth was originally carried out naturally. Through male/ female reproduction after a mass drought Irkens began to shrink in size due to the lack of moisture in the air. The rich could afford larger amounts of water and therefore could maintain their size, leading to the belief that they were superior.
(I know Irkens are hydroxide intolerant I'm getting to that. By the way this takes place over thousands of generations.)
Eventually too many Irkens were being killed by the low water supply, so top Irken scientists created a new genetic makeup for Irkens so they no longer depended on water and they were then mass produced. Eventually there was an error in some of the birthing facilities, leading the Irkens to be intolerant to water along with the failure of the immune system. Which lead to the development of the PAK (Whatever it stands for) and the famous squealy-spooch. However the gene for height was never developed for the general public, because it really isn’t necessary. So the aristocrats remained the tallest. The almighty tallest.

Shedra's theory is a little too far fetched to me. Sounds like something that was made up along the way of typing. Not meaning to troll. I think that the height of the Irkens comes from rare genetics. For example, there are not many African Americans with blue eyes but when the domino effect comes into play they can turn out to have blue eyes. Same with Irkens, it is rare for them to have great height, when it does come along it is worshiped because it does not happen too often. The average height of an irken would probably be 4 feet at an estimate.

hm, irken growth... they come out of pods and are activated by a machine [as seen in parent teacher night... of doom(i like to put "of doom" in front of all the episode names)] which of course has some strange genetic effects, like becoming massive like the tallest or short like zim & skooj of course it usually makes them normal size like tak and other irken peoples
