Well the Thriller Bark arc has definitely become my favorite arc of the series so far, so much mystery wrpped up with this one.
I believe everyone that gets kidnapped from the Strawhats crew will get surgically changed into some sort of weird zombie.
Considering Sanji was the first to get kidnapped and the penguin dog used similar techniques, had a similar personality, and even complained about his body type. Hogback probably erased his basic memory.
The ones to get changed will probably be the strongest members of the crew (Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji).
