BIO: [Stolen from Wikipedia. ;D] Hinata was born as the eldest daughter of the Hyuuga clan's main branch. When she was younger, a Kumogakure diplomat attempted to kidnap Hinata in order to learn the secrets of the Hyuuga clan's abilities. Her father, Hiashi Hyuuga, was able to save Hinata and kill the kidnapper, though the repercussions of this act forced her uncle, Hizashi Hyuuga, to sacrifice his life for the good of the clan. In light of this, Hinata was trained by her father to become the clan's heiress, though in time he came to deem her a lost cause. Believing Hinata to be of lesser skill than her younger sister, Hanabi Hyuuga, her father left Hinata in Kurenai Yuhi's care once she was assigned to Team 8.
At the start of the series, Hinata lacks self-confidence and the willingness to fight. Although she would train more than anyone else in order to improve her skills, she would immediately give up when faced with competition. In an attempt to change herself, Hinata entered the Chunin Exam. When pit against her cousin, Neji Hyuuga, in the exam's preliminary matches, Neji is quick to ridicule Hinata for her personality traits and attempts to explain that she is a failure who will never be able to change herself.
While Neji's words bring her to tears, Naruto Uzumaki's encouragement empowers her to fight her cousin. Although she is defeated, Naruto's words have a lasting effect on Hinata and she becomes more confident in her abilities. Before collapsing after her fight with Neji, she attempts to turn the tables on him and explain that he is actually the failure who will never be able to change, her first attempt at sticking up for herself. As she is carried away to recover, she attempts to ask Naruto if she changed at all during the battle, though losses consciousness before she can do so.
After her recovery, Hinata begins training not to better herself, but to prove herself to her father and Naruto. Her efforts are successful in both regards, as she is eventually able to acquire a better relationship with her father. Naruto has also come to hold her in a higher standing, and he now views her as a likable person rather than a "dark, timid, weird girl that always looks away from me when I talk to her". Navigation

BIO: [Stolen From Wikipedia. D: Not much...] Hanabi Hyuga (日向ハナビ, Hyūga Hanabi?) is the second daughter of Hiashi Hyuga, and thus Hinata Hyuga's younger sister. Hanabi means "fireworks".
When Hiashi discusses Hinata with Kurenai, he disdainfully refers to Hinata as "even weaker than Hanabi, five years her junior," which implies that Hanabi showed more talent at that point. Hanabi seems very obedient and quiet, at least in the presence of her father. Navigation

The Byakugan, literally White Eyes, (or Evil Eye as it is known in the English translations) is a very special condition of the eye that occurs naturally in all members of the Hyuuga clan. While it is believed that the Byakugan is genetically related to the Uchiha clan Sharingan, it is capable of many things the Sharingan is not and as Hatake Kakashi states, in terms of insight the Byakugan surpasses even his own Sharingan.
Used mainly as a taijutsu technique, the Byakugan gives it's user many great abilities including the ability to have a 360 degree field of vision, except for one tiny blind spot behind the first thoracic vertebra, this tiny spot is the only known weakness of this special ability. With the Byakugan activated it's user has the ability to detect anything that moves around them in a 50 foot radius, making the Byakugan a difficult task to fight against. When used with chakra the Byakugan becomes more powerful and can see through most solid matter over extremely long distances and allows it's user to see the inner coil system of the enemy, opening them to an attack on their tenketsu (Chakra Holes) by the hand of the juken (Gentle Fist). Only very advanced users of the Byakugan such as Hyuuga Neji can use the aforementioned juken technique, but when used successfully it can shut off the chakra flow of the opponent which has disasterous effects.
As one of only two known pupil techniques in the Naruto world, the other being the Uchiha clan Sharingan, it is only natural that there are several techniques that can only be used by one who possesses the ability of the Byakugan. These techniques include the Hakkesho Kaiten (Eight Trigram Palms Heavenly Spin) which creates an impenetrable dome barrier of chakra around the user, shielding all physical attacks and is one sure way to defend against the one open blind spot. Other techniques exclusive to the Byakugan are Hakke Rokujuyon Sho (Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms) and Hakke Hyaku Nijuha Sho (Eight Trigrams On Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms) which both make use of the ability to see and strike the tenketsu (Chakra Holes)of the opponent, shutting them down and rendering him unable to use any powerful techniques that involve chakra, and potentially killing him. It seems that while using this technique, the user has the ability to see everything in slowmotion. Only one person has been able to use chakra successfully after such a strike, Uzumaki Naruto, for the sole reason that he has two sources of chakra (His normal chakra and that from the Kyubi) which allowed him to continue in battle using chakra techniques. Heh, put me down as an unsure.
I don't actively dislike the pairing, but it's not something I really like either. It's cute in its right, and no ignorant bashers can regard it with "EWW! INCEST! RETARDED BABIES!!1!" like they do NejiHina since Hinata and Hanabi are both girls. That makes me unduly smug. On the other hand, Hanabi really doesn't have much of a presence, so I don't quite know how I'd think of her with Hinata...
And yet I suddenly have the urge to write it whee
