Oh, fellow teds, what a wondrous place this is! A place for quiet reflection and inspired action. I found my way to the main hall after visiting the dining room. Where else, I ask you, would a ted's nose lead her first? While dozing and waiting for other teds to join me, I'm deciding whether to share my recipe for brandied cranberries or herb-roasted nuts. Nuts and berries...yum! Maybe I'll go back to the dining room for just a small snack...

I am gratified my cooking meets with your approval, Lady Gladys! smile My cobbler turned out rather well today, if I do say so myself. When the summer heat grows uncomfortable I shall bring my ice cream churn up from the basement, and we can then have cold, refreshing frozen treats along with our pies and puddings!
How fares the weather in the Northern Lands? In the South it has been dry. I fear a drought again this year.

It is not easy being one of many. Doctor_Whatsit has been quiet and patient whilst I built this place, but now he has begun demanding time online. His Cookout guests at his Profile were missing him. Since he was so kind as to allow me so much time online all at once, I feel I must reciprocate...even though he spends his time doing very peculiar things. I looked in at the Cookout recently and he was attempting to feed flaming tofu on a stick to people, complete with heavy asbestos gear for protection. As I said, Doctor_Whatsit is a very odd fellow. rolleyes smile I suppose a little rest is not uncalled for after my work, but I do not like to think you will be bored, Lady Gladys.

Oh, Sir Oscar, I could never be bored here. There is so much I have yet to explore, and as a Good Ted of the League it is my job to help the League grow. I was delighted to meet Furamir, and I hope I see him around the grounds.
Flaming tofu on a stick sounds almost as yummy as roast marshmallows. Flaming marshmallows with the nice crunchy black crust are the best. The trick is to wave the stick to put out the fire without having the marshmallow fly off. Hmmm. This reminds me of when Sir Oscar threw meringue at me in the dining hall. I just might need a snack after all this talk about food.

I'm glad you and Eirwyn are getting a rest, Sir Oscar. I've been off on League business supporting Miradora for the last few days. Her parents have been visiting for the last week, and even though she knows her parents love her very much, Miradora was worried that her housekeeping would be a disappointment--to put it mildly. One of my jobs was to make sure that Miradora went to bed early instead of staying up and visiting Gaia. I sat in front of the computer monitor to remind her. I hope you and Eirwyn are enjoying your visit to Dr. Whats-it.

I venture to say both Furamir and I understand you perfectly. Should Eirwyn's mother come to her apartment, I have no doubt she would be sorely displeased! It has but one bedroom, and she has a great deal of books, comics, magazines, art supplies, drawings, video games....shall I go on? lol It gives Baybun ample hiding places. I usually remain very near the computer to make certain he stays away. Furamir stands watch in the living room atop a shelf to keep the villain from causing harm there.
Eirwyn will be making a trek to the mountains whilst she is awaiting entry into her TAA class in June. She intends to stay until Sunday. Her father has a computer however, so she may succeed in coming online late at night.
Oh, and I have at last met Slick! he is here on Gaia now. He is working on his League paperwork to join us. smile

Yes, but I understand his person has many family members visiting right now, and so is very busy. It may take him a bit longer because of that.

Many thanks for giving me an idea of where Baybun might lurk. I think he has passed through Miradora's home on occasion. I have seen definite signs of his mischief. I will have to be especially vigilant!
Many thanks, Furamir, for inspiring me to appear in my posts! Please tell Eirwyn that I think changing the maximum pixels in Miradora's photobucket account allowed me to appear in this larger size. razz

I have seen another Ted on Gaia this day! He is called Little Ted Boy. He is a young fellow. I think Eirwyn knows his person. Perhaps he will come and join us! smile

I look forward to meeting Slick; and I, too, hope Little Ted Boy will join us. As you know, I was drawn to the League by following Maid Lillian's portrait to Sir Oscar's profile, and from there to the Guild. Fellow bears will sniff us out! 4laugh

If we post in likely forums, I do think that lovers of bears and children will come to explore. I often visit profiles of avis who look interesting. When my friend Adam Herald receives his certificate of membership, Miradora will be able to add the banner for the League to her signature. It is delightful to sit here warming my toes in front of the fire and wondering about the bears who will soon be our fellows and the causes they will champion.

Hello, fellow Teds! So sorry for my delayed posting. *settling into a comfy chair and sipping my cup of tea* Aww... very nice.
My sponsor (Rhi) has been quite busy of late with her exchange thread and preparing for her upcoming trip (back) to Mexico. I've been amused listening to her Spanish language CDs. She's actually learning a few words and phrases. A testament to "You're never too old to learn." wink
A very nice place you've created here. *raises cup in salute to the host Sir Oscar and the hostess Lady Gladys* Thank you all for making an old Ted feel so welcome! biggrin

It's very good to have you here, Slick. smile Something seems to have happened to Lady Gladys' & Adam's person--she hasn't come to Gaia in a month! I hope it merely indicates a long, eventful vacation rather than any trouble.

Hurray! I'm back!
Baybun seems to have been stalking my computer. When I tried to start it up, it would just make mysterious whimpering sounds and nothing would appear on the monitor. I had to pack up my CPU and send it to be revived. It actually returned over a week ago, but I was afraid to open the box in case Baybun was lurking inside.
My apologies for being absent without notice to my fellow teds.
