I just wanna ask since I only saw...about 4 horse movies, Spirit Stallion of the cimarron, Black beauty,racing stripes, and the Last Unicorn...know any more? did u watch the movies I knw? just curious hehe biggrin

Flicka(haven't seen it yet), Dreamer, and a few I got for Christmas: Blue Fire Lady, the Black Stallion, and...something else sweatdrop besides the ones you mentioned.

If I had to have only one horse movie, it would be The Black Stallion. Oh, that movie is soooo good! It has lots of shots of the boy riding the horse on the beach, with no bridle or saddle. And a great race horse scene in the end.
It's got Mickey Rooney teaching Alex how to ride like a jockey, and most people don't know this, but when Mickey Rooney was just a kid, he was a jockey.
Another one I love is National Velvet (the first one, with Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney). It's great, very close to the book (except the horse is not a pinto, like it is in the book). It has a wonderful scene at the end at the Grand National steeplechase, with real footage of the real race.

There's a new movie called "The Derby Stallion" out. I don't know what it's about, but one of the horses at my riding camp was the stunt double!

I've seen all the movies u mentioned. I like the Last Unicorn the best. 3nodding There's a new movie out called Ruffian. Its about a famous racehorse. She was an undeafeted 2 year old and broke her leg in a match race against the top 3 year old colt in her 3rd year. Its sad but VERY good!

I'm trying to remember the name of a movie I saw once at camp. The horse is a dappled gray and does endurance, and at one point the girl is riding at night and jumps over a car on the road, or something. Anyone know what it's called?
EDIT: It's called Virginia's Run. Someone posted it at the other guild.

oh yea hidalgo! hehe that horse was sorta smart der but it was mostly about the guy right? oh does any1 knw running free? i cnt find dat movie....i only saw it once and missed the ending..*sigh*

theres and old old disney movie about and indian girl whos tribe rasies mustangs and she raises a mustang and trick rides on it and ends up having to sell it its really good but i cant think of the name of it.

try the western movie channel if you have cable or satilite or tcm or is it tmc they show a lot of old westerns.

I love to watch westerns those of course have a ton of horses in it. Some people dont like how horses are treated in some westerns though.
