Deep within the heart of the city, a small shop can be found. The outside is rather plain looking with a simple sign hanging in front. Inside, everything from candles to books can be found to aid those who believe in witchcraft. Be warned though! It is said that the shop owner can look into your soul to decide on whether you are worthy of what she sells. Also, many people from far around seek out the owner of this shop, a Miss. Rowen DeFleur, to have their futures told.

She had found what appeared to be a witchcraft shop of sorts, balancing her hamburger wrapper in one hand and her soda held in tightly in her other arm. Gazing up at the sign, she wondered if she shouldn't go in and at least see if they had what she might need, although, her dealings with witches normally ended up in ones that dabbled in black magic. And that wasn't exactly what she needed. She needed simple enough things, chalk, salt, maybe a few candles. All for circles and containment, possible exorcisms. The supplies she had had were used up awhile ago.
Then again, she remembered Gally and her ways, it was the future thing she didn't want to know about. And she always got drawn into card readings. Not sure if it was all just for entertainment or if someone was really guiding them along the way.
And what better way was there to pass the time than to browse through a shop? She threw out her brunch and pushed open the door, making her way towards the shelves of items, checking out incense as well. That had brought back memories instantly of when she would go to the church in Barton, asking for guidance as she would leave that and candles burning away. Did she really ever receive any answers all that time?

Miss.May watched the woman poke around the shop, an amused grin on her old face. She let the girl explore for a bit before actually making herself known. "Can I help you, child?" She stepped out from the shadows, a rather tall woman for her age. From the looks of it, she had to be over seventy years old. Her silvery hair cast an eerie sort of glow across her face.

She stopped inhaling sticks of incense, feeling like she had been caught eating a cookie from a bakery. But you had to sniff them to make sure it was an appealing scent. Turning caught in the act she noticed the grandmother type person, letting out a relieved sigh it wasn't someone who might have dabbled in black magic, this woman wasn't a likely candidate for such practices, although, being called child seemed to make her sigh somewhat inwardly even though she smiled.
"Actually, I'm just here for a few basic things. Some things to help me unwind, some items for protection only..seems I ran out of incense as well. I just need some salt, chalk, perhaps some more holy water, Some of this lilac incense...and I think that's about it. Don't really dabble in witch craft much to be honest."

"Oh? Is there a reason you steer clear?" The woman bustled around, removing boxes and bottles from the shelves in a hurry. After what seemed like forever, she placed all of the items on the counter at the front of the shop. "I believe that is everything you asked for. Protection, did you say? What may I ask are you trying to protect yourself from? Holy water... vampires? Let me tell you now, that is an old wives tale."

She grimaced as she heard the old woman's last statement, knowing she couldn't lie if the woman had asked her outright. Then again, this one might not be a believer in anything, a mundane mortal, as she took from a familiar work of fiction. She pulled out her Visa, cause it was everywhere she wanted to be and handed it with a warm smile to the woman.
"Well, Black arts aren't my thing, I guess you could tell that from my choice of items. And it's protection from..darker sources." She was sure this woman probably heard everything under the sun, including people wanting love potions of all things.
"I guess if you look at the bottom line, I'm really trying to protect me from myself.." It was true enough, demons and vampires were after her to kill her usually. She needed something to keep them at bay and not self destruct during a fight.
"Interesting shop you have here. I haven't seen this type of shop in a long time, course located where it is, I'm sure you see your share of people in and out, aye?"

"Oh... it's not my shop, dear. I simply run it for it's owner... Miss.Rowen DeFleur." When she said the name, her eyes seemed to light up. With the shake of her head, though, she was back to normal. "Who said you must dabble in the dark arts to study witchcraft? I suppose you are right though. One cannot study and learn good without learning it's counterpart, right?" She took the woman's card from her and swiped it through the machine. "Care to enlighten me on which darker sources a girl like you needs protection from?" She arched her eyebrow and handed Magik back her card.

The woman had gone and done what she had feared she would do. Asked her a direct question. Taking the card, she slipped it back into her wallet, gazing down at the picture she had taken some time ago with Raditz and herself at a theme park, wasn't that long ago.
"You don't always need to study the dark to learn where the light may lead you. And the protection is mainly for those who..oppose the light." She was starting to sound to a normal person like she might need a rubber room at Shady Acres. But she knew better.
"Demons, Vampires, Shades, Wraiths..My own nightmares..I'm sure there's more, but I can't keep track of it all on a daily basis. Thanks for the service. You had everything I need and delivered it with a smile, that's hard to find these days. The smaller places end up getting wiped out by big businesses. Always did hate that." She was attempting to change the subject, even as she snaked an arm through the bar resting there after signing her name onto the slip and handing it back to the woman.

"Demons, Vampires, Shades, Wraiths..." She paused a moment, an amused smile coming over her. "You wouldn't happen to be a cleric would you? It's just... not your average person comes in here asking for protection against things such as those." She took the slip of paper from Magik and read it to herself before putting it in the register. "Magik. What an exotic name..."

It was her turn to arch an eyebrow over towards the old woman at the mention of being a cleric. "I once was. But now..I'm sort of on my own, hard to explain. Odd that you actually have me figured out that quickly. Then again, maybe I'm the one out of the loop, I wasn't aware there were still any left. Not many choose this way of life."
She smiled at the mention of her name, stuffing the colored paper down into the shopping bag. "Thanks. Not my birthname though, Just a name I sort of adopted in time. It fits me alot better than that, I think. Ariel was my given name, it means light bringer...my mother seemed to have been into religion alot."

"Do I have you figured out? Or maybe that isn't the question..." She reached out and took Magik's hand gently. "Dear, do you have yourself figured out? Or are you really so predictable that an old loon such as myself can write a book about you?" She began to look over Magik's hand, making tsk tsk noises as she went and ocassionally humming.

She looked up as her free hand stopped nervously working the crepe paper back down, knowing very well what the woman was doing with abit of a sigh.
"You're not going to find too much there. My life line is kinda..well shortened. I know because I picked up a book once on palmistry. Not that I actually..believe any of it really works."
She felt curiousity kicking in as she couldn't help but look down as well to see where this woman might be tsking.
"As for if I have myself figured out. I would say no. And I don't believe I ever will. Life's a journey, not a destination..once we figure ourselves out, by then, it's generally too late. So, why the tsking?"

"You are not what you appear to be, child. You are wise beyond your years." She let go of Magik's hand and peered into her eyes from behind her silvery bangs. "I was tsking? Hm. Wasn't aware..." She smiled again, meant this time to reassure. "Oh the things I could tell you. But first, let me tell you this. Not everything you might think is fake is actually fake. Palm reading for instance. I do read palms, yes. But what I was doing just now was more than that. I was reading your spirit. Reading your essence. I rarely speak of a person's past, but in this case I will make an exception. Magik Madison, former cleric of Pelor. Right? You have been in two strong relationships. Two names in your mind... no three. Alexander, Scott, and Rad... the third one is not so clear. The first two were romances, but the third, you love him differently..."

Her hand dropped instantly to her side at hearing the part of her being wise beyond her years. She didn't honestly believe anything that someone usually told her about that. Meeting the woman's gaze and not judging, but listening.
Reading spirits and souls was truly a gift not many people had. And when she mentioned Pelor her eyes turned towards not the sky but the floor and then hearing Alex and Scott mentioned, sealed the deal. She was either real or she had heard of her from someone before. The second wasn't that likely, being she hadn't been to that town before.
"Raditz is my adoptive son and yes, I do love him. Very much. There's alot I don't know about and alot I have to do yet. But when you know your time is limited, you learn to make the most of what you have. I have to admit, I'm surprised by that, names as well. Perhaps you can read minds as well? Always thinking about the people I care about." Which threw her for a loop, why was Pelor still lingering after all this time? Maybe like Alex she just wasn't ready to settle down into a role.

"I can read minds, though I prefer not to. And trust me, right now I am reading you. Here, something that isn't on your mind. Something from your past..." She closed her eyes for a moment before opening them widely. "This Alex person, handsome fella, I am seeing him dressed up as a woman though. On a stage.. he is.. he is singing a rather odd song..." She smiled again, amused by what she had found out. This woman kept her secrets written on her sleeve.
