Script Frenzy is an idea that arose from
NaNoWriMo, and it's basically a challenge to write a twenty thousand word script during the month of June.
Now, I'm really more of a novel writer, but I've decided to give Script Frenzy a chance. After all, I have a few character quirks that I might like to make into eccentric people in a strange story, but I don't know if they're solid enough for a detailed novel. I know characters need to be just as solid for a play -- maybe more apparently so, too, as there's so much more showing, and so little telling after the exposition -- but since I'm newer to plays, I think I'd feel more comfortable experimenting. I didn't go with much spontaneity when I was working with NaNoWriMo, because I felt so attached to the plot and format of the novel, and I've regretted it in the months since.
Now, my point! This is in the contests section because I thought that all the other, more wonderful writers in this guild would enjoy such a contest. Getting away from our novels and spending a month on dialogue and sparse description might be a nice change, right?
Ahh, I'm not clear-headed today because I just got back from my Literature and Composition AP exam. It wasn't that hard, but I put a serious amount of thought into all three essays, and I'm a little mentally worn out. Sorry!
Still, is anyone else interested in Script Frenzy? My username is Moya on there, and my script will probably be a piece of junk, as I've never written a script before, but I think it'll be fun. Might as well try, right?
Have a nice day!
