The library of the Shinigami Academy is located near the center of the school, and is filled with thousands of text and reference books, both old and new. Shelves as high as the eight foot ceiling fill most of the room, filled with tomes with titles ranging from simple books "The Spirit in Your Head: A Beginner's Guide to Zanpaktou" and "Kidou for Dummies" to more advanced texts, like "A History of Soul Society" and "Hollow Attacks: Protecting the Innocent". The area near the door is cleared of shelves, and has tables spread out for students to quietly study. A small section of shelves in the corner is roped off for the sole use of upperclassmen.

Haruko walked in to the library and looked around, almost gasping at the size of it. Well, I can't believe it took me so long to find such a big place. I feel kind of stupid now...
She looked around the room to see if any other students were there, and found that she was alone. She walked down the ends of the rows until she found the row for beginners Kidou. She slowly walked down the row, picking up books she thought looked helpful. When she reached the end of the row, she struggled her way back to the area with desks, the weight of all the books she had picked out slowing her down. She set the pile of books down on a table more or less in the corner, sat down, and began to read from a book entitled "Incantations: Unleashing the true Power of the Demon Arts".

Rikatsu runs by the library door, turning and coming back when he sees that someone is in the room. Quickly he approaches Haruko where she sits with her books. "Pardon me", he says politely but urgently to the reading shinigami, gripping his wrists nervously, "But, its most urgent I speak with someone in charge. I'm new here and afraid I don't know anyone, could you assist me?"
Rikatsu is looking a little the worse for wear, his hair is mussed, the silk bindings on his wrists are loose, and his uniform is wrinkled. Looking closer he appears exhausted, and there are spots of blood on his clothing.

Haruko looked over her book at the man who had just come into the library. She paid no notice of him and went back to her book, until he came over and started talking to her. She looked him over once, and thought his question through. She set her book down and answered him quietly and politely, "I'm sorry, I can't really help you. I'm new here as well. I suppose an instructor could help, but I really have no idea where they go when classes are out..."
She picked up her book again and continued to read where she left off, just a few pages from the end.

Bowing somewhat tiredly, Rikatsu turns and somewhat under his breath mutters, "Great, a threat to all Soul Society and I can't find anyone to tell..." With a sigh he runs back towards the hall in search of someone that can help him.

Having finished the book, Haruko set it down on the opposite side of her from the pile of books she had yet to read. She skimmed through the pile and pulled out a book entitled "Taming your Reiatsu". She opened the book to the first page and began to read.

Haruko finished up the book, settingit on top of the other one she had already read. She then pulled another one out of the stack, "Bakudo: The Defensive Side of Demon Magic". She opened the book to the first page and began to read.

Haruko placed the book she just finished, "101 Ways NOT to Focus Your Reiatsu", on the pile of books she had read. The pile was now just slightly larger than the pile of books she had yet to read, although most of the ones she had finished were smaller books. She looked down at the pad she had been taken notes on, and then began to read the thickest of the six remaining books, "A Complete History of Kidou: Volume One".

Haruko set the last book on the pile, having just finished it. She sighed and leaned back for a moment, the stood up and carried the books back down the isle, putting them where she had taken them from. The last book she returned was "A Complete History of Kidou: Volume One". After returning it to the shelf, she took volumes twon through ten back to her seat. The series went up to fifteen, but she didn't think she would be able to carry all of them.

Haruko set volume three down, having just finished it. She rubbed her eyes, yawning loudly. She looked around the room quickly, and then back at her books. "I'm sure noone will mind if I take just a quick nap..." She said softly to herself, laying her head on the table.

Haruko had snapped awake almost immediately, not knowing why. She continued reading, and had finally finished all the books in her stack. She took them back then walked out of the library, clutching her bulging notebook and number of books she had checked out. Well, I guess not technically checked out, since there was no attendant. More like, borrowed without asking. She yawned and stretched, yet for some reason was not tired, even after almost a week straight of studying.
I wonder where everyone else is... she thought to herself, wandering off down the hall.

The alarms were loud and could be heard from every corner of Soul Society, a siren sound was coming from the heart of Seireitei. The announcement was broadcast via hell butterfly, which now crowded the sky with the beating of black wings:
"Attention, due to recent events, Soul Society will commence a lock-down of Seireitei in an hour's time. All shinigami, students and otherwise are to immediately return to Seireitei and remain there until further notice. I repeat, due to recent events, Soul Society will commence a lock-down of Seireitei in an hour's time.
