My Theory:
Sorry if you haven't beaten KH2:
At the end of KH2...Kairi brings Sora and Riku a message from the King. No know what the message says.
From what I've seen in the videos on youtube and through my own research...my theory is that this isn't the Keyblade War as thought to be...it is the Nobodies Keyblade War. By what I've seen...Roxas, Namine, Zemnas, and Riku's nobody are in it. I think the message was asking Sora, Riku, and Kairi to go back in time with him to stop Zemnas before he takes over Ansem. But when they go back, then become their nobodies. Roxas looks the same. Namine has Kairi's short hair from KH and dyed hair, and Riku's nobody is introduced(another hidden story from KH2 that no one knew about). King Mickey still looks the same though.

New Website with new info but different information:  Name: Aqua Age: Unknown Biography: Little is known about this character, however she seems to share a bond with the Blonde Haired Boy who was frozen by the main villian.  Name: Unknown / Blonde Haired Boy Age: Unknown Biography: Though he may look like him, this character is not Roxas from Kingdom Hearts 2. He seems to want to fight, but Ven holds him back, but with good reason due to the fate he fell with in the end.  Name: Ven / The Enigmatic Soldier Age: Unknown Biography: Rumors across the web say this guy is Sora's ancestor, but this may not be true. Again, little is known, however he seems the more aggressive and powerful ally of the above two characters. Seemingly older than his friends, his role in Kingdom Hearts 3 is still unknown.  Name: Unknown Age: Unknown Biography: As you may have noticed about the apparent main villain, he dresses a lot like Ansem. He wields great magical power, taking on the 3 above warriors by himself. There are theories that he is either connected with Ansem or Xehanort, but no one can truly be certain until Kingdom Hearts 3 is released.  Name: Unknown Age: Unknown Biography: This character is still a mystery, but he seems to be an apprentice of sorts to the main villain. He/it appears to be either a clone or a heartless creation.  Name: Mickey Mouse Age: Unknown Biography: We have reason to believe Mickey Mouse shall appear in Kingdom Hearts 3, as he makes a brief appearance in the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix.

The Keyblade War that is in the new game is either the past or the present. But on other websites it is saying that Ven is a desendant of Sora...so maybe the future....Xemnas looks older in KH3 so it could be the future.

if that was Sora's decendant and Aqua is Kairi's and Ven is Riku's then they were always meant to be friends forever. blaugh
