Please visit my thread Imbalance for my interpretation of each element. Please note that there are a couple changes for gameplay purposes. Post here with your opinion, but please, if you wish to flame, flame me and not any of the other people posting. Flames are disgusting things that have no place anywhere, but if you feel the urge, it's better to let it out, and I'm willing to be the recepticle for that. Have fun!

I suppose they all have stereotypes that they fit into, you know? For instance, hell/chaos/destruction/fire/darkness are all considered evil while heaven/law/creation/water/light are all considered good (even though one could control fire and darkness, but be good - while one could control water and light, and be evil).
Of course, there tend to be certain personality types that fit each of them that DO tend to be true, and some that are false (hot-headed and air-headed for Air and Fire; for instance)... and traditionally the Heaven vs. Hell boundries stand true to their meanings.
Mind you, I DO tend to prefer the "evil" elements over the "good" ones, but it doesn't have so much to do with the fact they are considered evil as it is just what I like and what I am into (I go for a Earth too - which is usually considered neutral).

i agree mostly with what alex was saying... most of the elements are considered as such because of the personality types that make up a majority of those who decide to affiliate themselves with them. i think the best example to use is earth, since as alex said, it is usually considered neutral. not everyone who uses it will be neutral, some will learn towards using it to kill, and others will want to use it to save. but i feel that as a whole, this element is largely understood. it's actually kind of hard to explain, so i wont try to now (maybe i'll edit this post later or post again if there's a response XD) but yeah... i'm sure there IS some sort of reason that i can't think of right now because it's 5:30 AM. ~Rin

Personally, I'd say it's chaos. We live in a very ordered society, and tend to avoid deviating from our schedules. Thing is, what we need to strive for is balence (I hate that word. I swear that the spell-check in word changes it. balence one day and balance the next.), because whit too much lean toward Law, we freeze up, unable to move out of a set pattern or think outside the box and therefor unable to live, but if we have too much chaos, the biological laws that hold our bodies together would crumble and we would disintegrate.
Too much of anything is bad. And I do mean anything. I'm fairly certain that the evangelists who cannot take a dump without praying will explode one day.
