The streets here are long and winding, constantly bending, the perfect maze. Many tall black spires can be seen along the horison, and many of the tall black buildings aregrouped close together. Along the identical streets are tall poles, each topped with a gothic looking lantern, barely spilling out enough light for the surrounding area. Shadows are everywhere, and people are scarce. Those that are seen are headed quickly for their destination. The streets themselves appear to be made of some dark crystalline material, smooth and unbending. A large temple is built in the center of this quarter of the city. With it's many buttresses, curving walls, and stain glass windows the color of dried blood, it is the ultimate symbol of the dark. Small statues also line the streets, amny depicting vicious creatures; beware, not all of these are statues. Many soldiers patrol the streets, keeping watch.

Zulu ran into a new section of the city. He saw some soldier and tried to dodge them so he wouldn't be seen. "Damn. Getting away was harder than I thought. They're still after me." He said running through an alley way. When he got out into the streets, he looked around and noticed that apart of this district was glowing. "Angelo" He said to himself, now running toward the light. "If I can get to you, I may be able to get out of here."

A large flank of shadows appeared before him, and Vaarn stepped out of them, holding a long blade that appeared to be made of sharp black crystal, almost like glass. The edge was so sharp the tip seemed to vanish into the air. "That seems likea pretty big if to me Zulu." He said, standing there. "Would you really bet your life on it?"

Zulu pulled out his sword shadow. "Yea. I'd bet my life on it." Then he started to channel shadow lore into the blade, making a huge blade of dark flames. "Because as you can see, I have a few fancy sword tricks too." He then charged at Vaarn, going for an attack.

Vaarn didn't budge as Zulu charged towards him. Suddenly, he moved his hand out, sending the shadows in Zulu's sword flying to the ground, dragging Zulu down along with them. He kicked Zulu under the chin, sending him flying back through the air. "You think to use shadows? Against me? Here?" Vaarn shook his head, his sword still laying silent at his side. "Perhaps I overestimated your skill Zulu. Here," He kicked Zulu's sword towards him, then resumed his solitary state. "Try it without the shadows this time. You'll probably have a better chance." Vaarn shook his head. Enemies could prove so amusing and so irritating at exactly the same time.

Zulu got up and wiped the blood off his face. "Overestimated me?" He said picking up his sword and sending shadows into it again. "You think I don't know any tricks? I know you can't bend this." The shadows on the blade then disappeared and water from the pouch on zulu's side went up the blade and spun around the blade. "No dodge this" Zulu disappeared into the shadows and reappeared in Vaarn's face hitting him with the sword, sending him in the air then onto the ground. Then he took the water off the blade and channeled the shadows into it running a Vaarn again.

Vaarn stood, and in a flash of movement, blocked the incoming sword. He glanced up. "Shadows, shadows, shadows. You really are stuid aren't you?" He twisted his hand, Zulu's sword clattering to the ground as Vaarn brought his own razor sharp blade downwards, missing Zulu's leg, but leaving a deep gash in the ground, the shock wave of which shaved Zulu's pant leg into scraps of cloth. Vaarn easily wrenched his sword from the ground, swishing it through the air quickly, the air itself seeming to be sliced, then readied it at Zulu. "Whenever you're ready to die."

As soon as the word "die" left Vaarn's lips, a figure emerged from one of the dark streets. His snow white hair clashed with his flowing robes of black. A thin mist swirled about his feet as he slowly approached Vaarn and Zulu. His eyes, one violet, the other gold, followed the men's movements. He stopped a few feet away from the men. Hands folded behind his back, he stood perfectly straight and motionless, silently watching.

Vaarn turned, looking at the newcomer without dropping his guard. He had seen the man several times before, wandering the streets of Aeishra. Many times soldiers had attempted to catch the stranger, though they had all failed. Vaarn himself found no reason to ever pursue the man, having seen him once or twice in Akakios' section of the city. "I see that the uncatchable have joined the immovable." He said, viewing the man through yellow eyes. "Tell me, what is your name?" the entire time he spoke, his stance never wavered, and his attention was never fully from Zulu.

The man tilted his head slightly to the side, his eyes piercing Vaarn. "My name?" A slight grin played on his face. His voice was deep, and yet empty. Each word resonated with an icy echo. "I have had many names, Vaarn. You may address me as Thanos." His eyes flicked to Zulu and then back to Vaarn, "You may carry on with your business. Don't let me interrupt."

Vaarn looked at Thanos, still eeriely still. As if forcing himself to turn away from the silver-skinned man, he faced Zulu once more, his razor sharp sword still held out, poised, and ready for attack. "Zulu, we can do this one of two ways. You can give in, and let the darkness completely overtake you. Or," his eyes flashed, "Kri Hana and I will feast upon your blood." The sword seemed to vibrate at hearing it's name, and at the mention of blood, made the air hum with a powerful need; the insatiable thirst for blood and destruction. It had been crafted for this very purpose, just like its companions. Vaarn had forged them out of spite, malice, hatred, and disillusionment. He had given each of them a name, corresponding with the four great Calamities that would eventually bring about the end of the world. Kri Hana meant Death.

"Kri Hana?" Thanos' grin widened, "You...have an...interest in death, do you not?" His eyes narrowed and he motioned to the sword, "Kri Hana...it means death, does it not?"

Vaarn looked over to Thanos. "You speak the royal language of Nir-al-dat. That is not an easy feat. Yes, Kri Hana does mean Death. I find it to be the most useful of my swords." He looked into Thanos' mis-matched eyes. "And I have always found an obsession in death. Without it, life is pointless, stretching on forever. I have felt what this is like, and so I rush others to their own peace." A flicker of a msile almost passed ove rhis lips. "Not to mention, that no one ever truly escapes Death. One must admire that."

Zulu laughed. Something seemed different about him. He then lifted his head to show his face. Zulu's face was not there. It was completely blank where his face should be. Then the body turned to shadows, With his sword Shadow falling to the ground.
"Good. Now, here is my chance." He thought. Zulu formed a ball of water in his hand and spun it, like last time, to create energy. He then ran out from the alleyway and jumped into the shadows appearing right next to Vaarn. "Take this." He said, thrusting the ball at him, hitting him in the side. The force of the attack then threw Vaarn into a wall. "Now, for Angelo." He said now running for it again. He picked up Shadow, while running, heading for Angelo.

Thanos' head lifted in interest, "You will find that I'm quite fluent in many languages, including the royal language of Nir-al-dat." He paused as Zulu attacked Vaarn and sent him into a wall, continuing once the dust had cleared, "I appreciate your admiration of death. Many people fear death. In fact, everyone fears death, no matter how small the fear may be. But, no matter how small your fear may be, I am glad to hear that you have such high regards for death." His eyes narrowed again, "I have a slight fascination with death as well, and I must say, you've kept me busy over the years, Vaarn."
