Mornandum and Keskiyo

Name: Mornandum
Meaning: Black Abyss (Tolkienese elvish)
Gender: Male
Stage: Elder
Domain: Void (darkness)
Relations: Slit (once mate)
Offspring: Keskiyo (adopted), Nivorum, Mandy, ...
Personality: Mornandum's personality seems to vary with his mood and the people he's with, though almost all variations carry with them mocking bemusement or dry sarcasm. At his best he can be reasonably friendly with a belittling sense of humor and an aptitude for teasing. When he is in a less pleasant mood he ranges from coldly distant to snarling hostility. Other times he adopts a quiet and contemplate mood, preferring not to be talked to. Mornandum usually hides his deeper emotions from others but the ones he does show can change in an instant. These mood swings are generally triggered by the reminder of some part of his past, though he's never told anyone just what has happened to make him this way. His swiftly changing moods, occasional detachment from reality ,and hostility makes Mornandum seem slightly deranged to those who don't know him well... and sometimes even more deranged to those who know him better...
Powers: The most obvious of Mornandum's unusual abilities is true flight, made possible by his two feathered wings. His elder abilities, along with the elf transformation, fall into the domain of void. The ability he uses most often is darkness manipulation. He can strengthen, bend, and shape existing darkness and even create shadow where none exists. He mostly uses this to shade himself from the sun, or for dramatic effect. His other ability is less frequently used, his void blades. These are mentally manipulated pieces of void that can be used to cut with a practiced and deadly accuracy. Morna generally doesn't use that ability unless enraged or defending his life.

His scriptures provide him with another set of acquired abilities. He can either use them as a focusing and powering agent for his elder abilities or use them as weapons themselves. They have diverse uses, from holding a passenger in place on his back to sharpening and lashing out like a scorpion's tail.
History: Mornandum arrived in the Di'jai Forest one day after a long stay amongst humans. He hasn't said any more about his past than that, though he implies that there is a lot more to it. He recently adopted an abandoned pup, Keskiyo, for reasons that he hasn't shared. (see storybit one)

Recently Mornandum bred with the dragonfly Slit after a series of nighttime adventures. He didn't stay around to see the pups born, instead flying off towards the center of the forest for reasons of his own. (see storybit two)

More recently, Morna returned to Slit and the pups in an attempt to be a father to them.
Aspirations Mornandum seems to enjoy causing mischief and tricking people but beyond that... no one knows...

Name: Keskiyo
Meaning: Midnight (Finnish)
Gender: Male
Stage: Adult
Domain: Void
Relations: Mornandum (adoptive father)
Offspring:
Personality: Keskiyo never seemed to get over the second perceived abandonment in his life. What used to be a nigh fanatical devotion to his adoptive father, Mornandum, has turned into a seething hatred that leaks through his behavior. Much of the time he acts nearly feral and attacks dragonflies indiscriminately if they cross his path. When he is feeling more coherent his anger turns cold but is still just as vicious. As a rule he trusts no one and makes no move to make friends with strangers. He is a very troubled dragonfly...
History: Abandoned or lost by his mother, Keskiyo was adopted near death by Mornandum (see storybit one). Mornandum would keep Keskiyo with him until adolescence, at which time Mornandum disappeared without a word to his adopted son. Keskiyo tracked Mornandum's scent to a litter of pups fathered by him and mauled one in a jealous rage before running off into the forest (see storybit two). He stayed secluded and alone until he was an adult and by then he was full of a vicious anger.

Nivorum

Name: Nivorum
Meaning: Of the snow (don't remember where it's from...)
Gender: Female
Domain:Void
Generation: Two
Stage: Child
Relations: Mornandum (Father), Slit (mother), Mandy (sister), (sister)
Offspring:
Personality: Like her name, there is a certain chillness about Nivorum. She keeps herself a little distant from the other dragonflies in her life, including the rest of her family. She is quiet and doesn’t open up to dragonflies that she doesn’t know well. She’s polite to those that she feels are worthy of respect though her words sometimes have a sarcastic n** to them. She is capable of making friends and is very loyal to those that she considers one but doesn’t make them easily.
History: Nivorum was born in a litter of three sisters and has not yet met her father, Mornandum. When she was a young pup she was mauled by Mornandum’s enraged adopted son, Keskiyo (see storybit two). She incurred scars from the encounter that she would carry with her for the rest of her life.
Special Notes: Nivorum is covered in scars from being attacked as a pup. Her scriptures flutter without wind and look pretty but serve no functional purpose. She wears the glasses mostly for decoration though she does squint without them from time to time.

Cayliant

Name: Cayliant
Meaning: A cross between Caylee (The OC he's based on) and liante (elvish for spider)
Gender: Male
Stage: Elder
Domain: Earth
Relations: None
Offspring: None in the general area
Personality: Generally, Cayliant is a very cheerful dragonfly, almost insipidly so to those irritated by cheer. He is cheerful to those he does like, cheerful to those he doesn't like as long as they aren't currently offending him, and cheerful to the ones he doesn't know. The feeling of his cheer can range from goofy to condescending and sometimes interchangeably either.

For all his cheer, Cayliant has a variety of less pleasant aspects of his personality. He is very judgmental. He'll treat those he finds distasteful politely as long as they're not actively annoying him but he keeps a grudge and will remember who has annoyed him in the past. Cayliant is also rather vain. He is quite fond of himself and takes any criticism very personally. This combined with his judgmental personality makes him get a low opinion of those he feels cannot appreciate his refinement.

Cayliant is secure around those weaker than him or that he can push around easily... but something dangerously close to cowardice shows through when he is confronted by someone stronger than him...
Powers: Cayliant has two main elder abilities that he uses. The most dramatic is his web building ability. Provided that he can find trees able to support the weight, he can spin a giant web between them and catch his favorite meal in it. He is very agile in his own webs but has to cling to the stronger and thicker web tines. The smaller sticky ones wouldn't support his weight.

His other ability is an acidic breath weapon that has a variety of uses. Cayliant's most common use of it is to bite his caught prey and inject it with the acid. This pre-digests it a little and usually kills anything still struggling. Cayliant can also use his acid as a long range offensive weapon but it lacks the force and duration needed to make it truly formidable.

Latriante

Name: Latriante
Meaning: A combination of Latrodectus, the name for black widow spiders and the elvish word for spider
Gender: Female
Stage: Adult
Domain: Earth
Relations: She is related to Cayliant to an unspecified degree
Offspring:
Personality: Latriante is both arrogant and mischievous as a consequence of her spiderlike features. She has no shyness or shame about them and uses them to the best of her ability. She finds personal amusement in the frightened reactions that she receives from strangers and will play up an entertaining situation.

She views most dragonflies with a sort of soft disdain at their seeming lack of abilities.
Powers: Latriante has a spider-like climbing ability and can build webs in the same manner that a spider does.

Luinulaire

Name: Luinulaire
Meaning: Blue ghost (elvish)
Gender: Female
Stage: Elder
Domain: Fire

Personality: Luinulaire is quiet but not shy. Instead she seems reserved, distant. She has little use for the company of others and little to say when she finds it. Her anger is slow to waken but when it is it burns just as coldly as her flames and she seldom forgets a grudge. She also seldom forgets the few friends that manage to make it past her distant demeanor.
Powers: Luinulaire has the ability to make ghostly blue illusions. These will o'the wisps can take many different shapes and forms but are always visibly made of blue flames.

Sesshoumaru

Name: Sesshoumaru
Meaning:
Gender: Male
Stage: Elder
Domain: Void
Relations: Master to Nunet and Genome. Half-brother to Inu Yasha. Related to the Void Clan
Offspring:
Personality: On the exterior, Sesshoumaru seems haughty, cold, and stoic. He has a deeply ingrained sense of superiority arising from his high status upbringing. This makes it difficult for him to form connections with others and makes it vastly less likely that he would want to in the first place. He rarely shows emotion other than disdain, even to those closest to him. However, though his outward emotions show little, more can be inferred through his actions. He shows and admits to no compassion but he keeps a human girl with him and shows remarkable patience and even protectiveness over her. Whether this is a whim or some sign of deeper kindness in Sesshoumaru is yet to be seen.
Powers: Like all elders, Sesshoumaru can transform into elf form. One of his powers is void claw/bite. This attack acts in many ways like an acid attack but instead of acid sizzling away it is void draining away the substance around it. He can create small void rips with these attacks and can injure himself with them if he isn't careful.

His other elder power is that of resurrection. He can bring dead creatures back to life, the more freshly dead and the less magical being easiest. The older, longer dead, and more magical a being is the harder it is for him to resurrect them. He doesn't enjoy using this power and rarely does.
History: Sesshoumaru is one of the foremost members of the Void Clan, a line of void elders that can trace their lineage directly back to Biade himself. They are very elitist and believe themselves lords amongst the lesser dragonflies. They breed only with other void elders and remain in their elf forms most of the time as proof of this superiority. Sesshoumaru was raised mostly by his mother and infrequently by his father, both high ranking members of the Void Clan.

When Sesshoumaru learned that his father had left the forest to die of mortal wounds in the desert he set out looking for his father's corpse and the heirloom swords of their Clan. Instead of finding swords he found endless sands and would have perished in the desert if not for the intervention of a small human girl. When he became well enough to travel again he found the human girl dead in the sands and used his elder power to resurrect her and take her back to the forest. Since then he has been traveling the forest with her and his attendants looking for his half brother in attempt to recover the sword he knows that he possesses.
Notes: Sesshoumaru very rarely uses his true form and is most often seen in elf form. He is attended to by several other dragonflies and with them, takes care of a small human girl named Rin.

Genome

Name: Genome
Gender: Male
Stage: Adult
Domain: Water
Relations: Servant to Sesshoumaru
Personality: Coming from a long line of dragonflies sworn to serve the Void Clan, Genome is well suited for his station. He is almost fanatically devoted to Sesshoumaru and will fiercely defend him in words or actions, even if his fighting skills are less than fearsome. Underneath the devotion he has some insecurities, mostly about whether he is truly useful to his lord and whether Sesshoumaru will ever show him anything other than casual disinterest. Spending so much of his life and time in servitude has left him with few social skills when away from Sesshoumaru and he will quickly get tongue-tied around unfamiliar faces.

Check to see if they have breeding and/or RPing available and then send me a PM... or leave a message here! I love to RP and see puppies so I'm likely to be amiable. If you want your dragonfly permanently mated to one of mine then I'm going to be somewhat more picky...

I don't mind starting RPs myself or paying for part/most/all of breedings... but if I pay then I'd like to be able to distribute any extra pups as I see fit... ninja (edit: Since the banning, Roniel doesn't have as much gold to spare... xd ))

Want a pup from one of Roniel's breedings?

There is good news and bad news on this front!

Good news: I love giving away pups to buddies and people I think would appreciate them!

Bad news: I don't like to see lots of people going "me! me! Pick me!" or "omg!! I love your pups!!! Can I have one???" If I don't know you and you ask for a pup in a way that I find n00bish or irritating then I'm rather unlikely to give you anything until I forget the irritation.

If you want to ask me once very nicely and in a non-greedy manner to give you a pup from a breeding... go ahead... but... erm... please don't make it annoying.

Otherwise, I'll be giving 'em out through contests and to people I think would make good owners for 'em!
