 As you near the classroom, you see a sign on the door that says: Care of Magical Creatures Classroom
Deirdre ShaysUpon walking in, you gasp, for the classroom has been enchanted to look like the forest. Leaves are crawling on the wall, medium-sized trees are randomely growing around the class, and flowers are blooming in some places. A shimmering wall is on the other side of the room, which is a special place for the professor to lead some animals so that students can observe them. Low desks are placed around the border of the room and greenish cushions are on the ground, so as to let the students sit cross legged and observe creatures closely. About the Professor: Professor Deirdre Shays, who prefers to be either called Professor Shays or just Deirdre is a woman of 25 years who has just been hired to work at Hogwarts. She is greatly honored to teach the students of Hogwarts, and is a replacement teacher of the Professor Kage who had recently passed away. Professor Deirdre Shays is a nice and warm teacher, who is of medium height and has black hair tied up in a bun for convenience to work with the creatures. A slight warning, -Do not get on her bad side, if you do, she can be very strict and unfair-.

Homework
All homework will be placed here. Homework assignments are to be PMed unless otherwise notified and are to contain your name, house, and the homework title. Professor Deirdre Shays will only accept late assignments IF and only IF there is a reasonable and valid excuse - OOC not IC.

Although she didn't really want to ruin the whole forest charm that she had put on the room, she had to make a blackboard somewhere. Clearing up a little of the right side of the room, she set up a blackboard with a flick of her wand. Muttering a spell under her breath, she swished her wand and the chalk started writing what she dictated.
Welcome students of Hogwarts. I am your new Professor and my name is Deirdre Shays, I will be teaching you the Care of Magical Creatures Class.
With a flick of her wand the chalk lowered itself onto the the chalk-place of the blackboard. Clearing her voice she said, "As our first class, we will be learning about hippogriffs, which are creatures that reside in the forests beside Hogwarts. They aren't very dangerous, but nevertheless, we will have to be careful when we see them or go near to them. They are very sensitive and proud creatures." Blinking her queer yellow eyes at the students she swished her wand and said, "Now, please copy this in your notebook.
Hippogriffs
* Hybrid creatures
* Have the head, talons, and wings of an eagle, and the hindquarters of a tail and horse.
* Proud and can be easily offended.
"Okay, now I will be leaving some easy homework to you students and I hope you give it to me on time. This classroom will be closed after 10:00 PM so if you are going to give me an assignment that you have finished please slip it under the door. Class is dismissed." She announced and smiled at the students.

She hurried into the Care of Magical Creatures classroom and gasped. This was totally different from the old classroom, it looked so...enchanting and absorbing. She was sure this would be an interesting class. Sitting down on one of the cushions and taking out her writing objects from her bag, she copied what was on the board and the homework.

"Hello, girl, what's your name? I'm your new professor of Care of Magical Creatures," she asked nicely, her voice was soft and comforting, "I see you are in Ravenclaw. 5 points to Ravenclaw for being the first student to come then..." Flashing a smile at the girl, she flicked her wand and 5 sapphires dropped into the Ravenclaw points bottle.
((Is it sapphires? what do you call the thing that the school uses to record points? I forgot :S))

"Oh!" She noticed the professor for the first time, she wasn't used to seeing a professor in the class since she was almost always late, "My name's Kari Lunar, and thank-you for the points! I really like the charm here, I've read about it in one of the books in the library," She giggled and smiled back at the professor, "I'm really excited about this class! I can't wait to learn about the magical creatures and see them!"
Looking at the time on her watch, she was really regretting that she had another class right now. "Um...Professor Shays, I'm really sorry, but I have another class right now and I really have to go."

"Very well Kari," Professor Shays responded, "It was nice meeting you and I hope you have fun in your other class. Remember to bring me the homework when you are finished!" Waving, the girl called Kari ran out the door to her other class. Sighing, Deirdre thought, "Such a charming girl, I'm sure she will do well in my class."

Yolanda quietly walked into the classroom and looked around. She gasped as she realized that it was like a forest. Then, after she noticed that there was homework on the blackboard, she sat at one of the desks and started on her homework. When she was finished, she stood up and handed it to the teacher. "Professor? I'm done with the assignment. I'm not sure if I got the extra credit right but I tried." She then quietly and politely left the classroom to go to her other classes.

"Ahh yes, I see your name is Yolanda," she smiled at the student. "You did a very good job in your first assignment, 10 points to Hufflepuff!" She swished her wand and the 10 gems fell into the Hufflepuff points jar. The girl was already leaving the class, "Goodbye then." Sighing, she sat down in a comfy chair and waited for more students.

((this post should've actually come before I returned to the slytherin common room, so I'm not in two places, just two time zones. I'm sorry for the inconvience, it won't happan again. Thanks for understanding!))
Piper slipped into the corner desk, her quill between her teeth as she settled her pack on the desk. She copied the homework without really looking at what she was doing, being much more fascinated with the shimmering wall to her left. She reached out to brush the foliage with her fingertips just as students began to flood into the empty classroom. With their arrival, she departed, back to the safety of the commonroom.

Class had ended for a while, and she grew bored of waiting. Standing up and enchanting her things to put themselves into her bag, she walked out of the classroom and locked the door. Also enchanting the door so that the unlocking charm wouldn't work to open it.

Kaya walked into the new care for magical creatures room, nd was awed. 'My favorite class is finally running!!!!!' She copied down the notes about hippogriffs, then wrote the homework down. Kaya walked out, thinking that it would be better for her to do her homework in the libraary, because she wanted to do extensive research for this class.
Kaya retured a while later, with a roll of parchment. It could be seen that there was a lot of writing on it. She set the parchment on the teacher's desk and walked out again.

Walking into the classroom and sitting down at the desk, she saw a piece of parchment and read it thoroughly. Talking to herself quietly she said, "Right, nope, nope, right, right." Sighing, she thought Why do some people like my class but return their assignments late? "Eight points to Slytherin," she said and swished her wand, but thought again and swished her wand again saying, "Minus one point for giving the assignment one day late." She was sorry she had to take of points but it was the only think she could do to get her students to give the assignments on time.
