Well, I guess I'll get this thread started:
Some Things Are Better In Black and White
I remember when you were still yellow Peach blooming out from your skin And though your eyes held pale opal Thin lips in pink were still trimmed
The body’s a pallet of colors Each day brings a new shade of life But when it all fades to a charcoal and grey Things shine in a darker new light
What once was a rose colored leather Feels cold with shades of deep blue And white forms cracks on your tightening lips That fade to a ghastly red hue Your fingernails still remain brittle But now lined with purple puffed skin And the sores that had formed as you waited for strength Turned green where infection set in
Now your body starts to go motionless Beside swells of off colored brown And the velvet dyed black that we stand on Falls into the hollowed out ground
So I think on the last time I saw you Being washed by times silver rain And I wonder how long till the memories are gone And the colors no more remain
Digital
Can’t sleep, can’t sleep. Click click click. Typing words, following sentences, searching and finding nothing. But I can’t sleep, never sleep. There’s no time to rest. Something is waiting for me out there, I know it! I can feel it calling to me. (Can you hear it too?) It hides behind the metallic flashes of a cold digital dream. Click. Typing. Frantic searching. Why isn’t it here?
Wait, what was I looking for again?
Another distraction. Start over again.
Can’t sleep, I have to find it. I need it! Fading clicks, fading vision. ( What am I doing? ) Click. Stroke after stroke, the keys find my fingers. Nothing more than an extension of my body into this fictional world. (Am I becoming a part of this digital mess?)
Search. Find. Not perfect. It needs to be perfect. It doesn’t matter unless it is flawless. An image doctored and mended with realistic textures. Beautiful. It has to be here.
Searching. No... Searching. It has to be there. It’s waiting only for me. Tear it from its universe and strap it to my hard drive, an eternity of molestation and ogling. Waiting only for me. And I won’t sleep till I find it. Click click click. My digital reality. No sleep. Not until I find a dream hidden behind the pixel screen.
Critique is welcome!!!!! Post something!!!!

The first poem was good. I liked how the first poem had such an intensity of describing color. How creative. The second one and third ones were good too. I liked how they desribed how busy one can be with the digital stuff. I also like the intensity of emotions convayed in these poems. I got a scense of fear and stress reading these. Well done. smile

The first one's use of color words is great, and the second one's giving me a real sense of desperation.
