In order to progress in rank scrolls, you will have to learn proper ceremonies and how to be a proper geisha from Ayane. (You may start an RP with her at anytime)
Students: - No one yet!

Nariko approached the dwelling of the esteemed geisha. She was eager to begin her studies as an apprentice. Though it would be hard, she was ready. Hard work did not faze her. She tapped on the door, and said in a soft voice, "Excuse me, Ayane-sama? I am here to begin my training."

Snoozing on a chair, Ayane's eyes fluttered in her sleep. She didn't hear the tap of the door, but was startled to hear her name. Jumping awake she squeeks a little bit, and looks at the new kitty. "Oh...well..you scared me." She said nervously. She ran over and took the kitty by the paw. "So! You're here to be a geisha? Excellent. Come in, come in. Take a seat over here." She motions to two rather pink pillows seated near a table. "What might your name be?"

"I'm sorry to have startled you. My name is Nariko," the Siamese replied. She sat down on one of the pillows, ears ready to listen to instruction. This was exciting, though she chided herself for seeming to have come at a bad time.

"Pretty!" She offers a warm smile. "I like that name!" She looks around carefully. "We'll start off easy...I have a few things to teach you. Memorizing literature and poems..." she grabs a few books "tea ceremony.." she piles a tea pot on top of her books "bamboo flute..." also piled on top "dances.." she sways back and forth, the teapot on top looking as if its going to crash to the floor. However, she balances it all very well and places it on the table. "and above all, gracefulness!" She winks a little. "Poems are first! Repeat after me...
Hito wo yume to ya omoishiruramu; sumi suteshi, sono wa kochou no yadori nite...." That man's life is but a dream - is what we now come to know.
Its house abandoned, the garden has become home to butterflies.

Nariko watched, amazed that nothing had fallen to the floor. She supposed that is why geisha started out as waitresses-balancing things was a part of that job, too. But all those things Ayane had weren't plates.
She listened carefully to the poem, and repeated it. "Hito wo yume to ya omoishiruramu; sumi suteshi, sono wa kochou no yadori nite."

Excellent! She clapped. Now as a geisha, we are expected to memorize these poems so we may entertain people at parties. Remember them well, write them down. She handed Nariko a scroll and a brush with ink on it. Write down the first one, then this next one:
yumeji ni wa ashi mo yasumezu kayoedomo utsutsu ni hitome mishigoto wa arazu..Though I go to you ceaselessly along dream paths, the sum of those trysts is less than a single glimpse granted in the waking world.

Nariko took in the second poem. Dipping the brush and the ink, she slowly and carefully wrote out the first poem, and then the second. She hoped that she would be able to remember all of the poems, but the writing would help. And writing in itself was an art as well. One had to remember the stroke order, and good handwriting was beautiful.
"You know, I love poems," Nariko remarked, smiling.

And you write them quite well! She smiled. She picked up a book from the table and began shifting through the pages. "Any particular novels you enjoy? Geishas are often asked to talk or recite excerpts from their favorite reads.."

"Well, yes, actually. There are several," Nariko replied. "You might even have them here..."

"You're welcome to go through them" she motioned to the rather large pile of books stacked on the table. "Pick a few out, and then maybe we'll start the tea ceremony"

Nariko smiled. "Thank you." She picked out three of her favorites. "Ah, here they are."
