"Ah. Lets try a drama together." He handed Masafumi a torn out page of the book. "This is from one of my favorite plays. This part is rather short, I just want to see how well you read lines.This is before they kill Caesar. Note how Cassius seems to be a bit paranoid about the plot. I Shall play Brutus, and you, Cassius."
The piece of paper was entitled Julius Caesar, Act 3 Scene 1.
Popillius Lena has just wished Cassius good luck for their plan "
I wish your enterprise today may thrive." And exits. Brutus approaches Cassius.
BRUTUS(to CASSIUS) What said Popillius Lena?
CASSIUS(aside to BRUTUS)
He wished today our enterprise might thrive.
I fear our purpose is discoverèd.
BRUTUSLook how he makes to Caesar. Mark him.
CASSIUSCasca, be sudden, for we fear prevention
—Brutus, what shall be done? If this be known,
Cassius or Caesar never shall turn back,
For I will slay myself.
BRUTUSCassius, be constant.
Popillius Lena speaks not of our purposes.
For, look, he smiles, and Caesar doth not change.
CASSIUSTrebonius knows his time. For, look you, Brutus.
He draws Mark Antony out of the way.
"And now we start!"
He cleared his throat a bit, and stood up tall. He looked quizzically at Masafumi and walked over, briskly. In a deep voice, completely different from his speaking voice, he delivered his line "What said Popillius Lena?" while pointing in the direction from which Lena left.
