Do you enjoy dressing your Profiles on Gaia handsomely? In particular, do you use the New Profile system? You know Gaia has many fine backgrounds for you to use, but do you know you can use ANY background you please?
There are a multitude of websites on the Internet offering all sorts of free graphics to use on web pages, and those can be used on your New Profile as well! All you need do is upload those graphics to your image hosting account, such as Photobucket. If you access an Image from the THEME control when editting your Profile, it will become your new background! You might choose to use a desktop image (though a large image will load quite slowly on some computers), or a small tile which fills the page. I myself use tiles, for they will not only load more swiftly, they also will continue to present a smooth background no matter how long you may make your Profile page!
I would share some tiles made by Eirwyn, my person. You are free to use them for yourselves, but not for profit or to claim as your own work. You also must download them to your computer, not use these links.
These tiles are made from images scanned out of the Dover book The Grammar of Ornament, by Owen Jones. They are images from many eras of history. Some images have been altered a great deal, but others are almost as the originals.
