Meditation is a simple technique that can be used for psychi or magic practice or just to plain relax. However it is often overlooked how simple meditation really is.
First off, you have your classic meditation styles. And i'm sure once Nostiadian sees this thread he'll have a few helpful hints as well.
1. Find a position you are comfortable in, as long as you are able to realx sufficiently in the acticity or current sitting position you can use that for meditation. Find what works for you.
2. Now, try to relax your mind. Just focus on clearing your mind from all worries. If you are worried about time simply set a timer for 30 minutes or something so you don't go too far under. You need to clear your mind and focus on just thinking about nothing basically before you can get anywhere in meditation.
3. Now, focus on the purpose you are meditating for. One of my techniques is to just envision all your undealt with issues and feelings being let go from your body as you breathe out. Great way to deal with your shadow. BUt that is for another lesson. Some people use meditation to channel spirits, to cast magic, to go astral, to just relax. You can use meditation for pretty much anything if you are doing it right. Just try not to get too far ahead of yourself.
4. If focusing on a specific goal is not working then do the whole specific goal thing some other day. Instead just let your mind wander. See what you come up with. Often times this is the most powerful form of meditation you can find. We as a society often dismiss the power of our minds.
5. Find a breathing pattern or movement to help you relax. Synchronize the pattern if neccesary. Anything that is repetitve that helps you to realx. It will help if you focus on slwoing down your heart beat too. Just don't focus too hard as it is possible to meditate yourself to death. however it is extremely extremely unlikely than anyone new to meditation would have the capacity to go so deep.
6. Until you know what you're doing try to stay in your own body. Just to avoid any ugly results.
Once you have these basic concepts down for mediation you jusyt have to find what works for you and how to realx yourself. And the rest is all about patience. The only other thing I can bring up is to push time out of your mind while meditating.

Do not give up. No matter what. I know it is difficult at first, but with time you will get it. Just know that you have the power inside you to do it. I know you can do it. Destiny would not have brought you here if you could not do it...

I've been meditating for a while now while listening to a meditating audio that I got from here what is special about it? there's a voice guiding you telling you what to do plus there's a background noise.. sounds like beating that has a certain tempo.. first tempo is to get into the beta wave (i think) that's how you begin..and you try to stay awake (some people can not stay awake in that state.. so they must practice more until they can be aware during that state.. sometimes it can be due to fatigue.. I've had that once maybe..) then comes the alpha state which is the more advanced state (i think there's a teta state also but i forgot which comes first.. *sweatdrop*)..try this out and see if it helps.. right now I'm in a pause from it due to lack of time that was caused by school.. so I'm going to get back into meditating this summer. psychic powers here i come! lol

that1AWESOMEperson :/ too bad that you have to pay for the sound. no you don't you can get a free email subscription and they give you the first 3 audios for free. 1 each week accompanied by explanations And I'll also share some other audios and videos I have once I get the time to do so in 2 weeks or so.. just remind me of that..because I probably won't remember *sweatdrop*

meditating can be done anytime anywhere. zoning out and thinking about yourself in another place or just analyzing your situation or yourself in general can be thought of as meditation. the most important here is to get some time to relax and concentrate on yourself on your energy, feel the flow of the energy within you. i know of an exercise you can do while meditating, such as visualizing yourself as a source of energy. visualize your chakras in color such as this: http://www.choix-realite.org/doc/themes/veda/images/chakras.jpg or .jpg]http://www.reiki-soins-a-distance.com/chakras5[1].jpg uhm... i forgot the rest.. maybe it was smthing like.. imagine yourself extracting energy from the earth , from the things that surround you. (anyone help out here? >.> lol)

The first method of meditation I used was the death technique? o.o I actually really liked it, but when I told my sister about she said she'd probably start panicing or something (because you have to believe and tell your body that you're dying...) Has anyone else heard of this? I think the other method I've tried was just clearing your mind... I haven't done any meditation in little while though, I haven't gotten it worked into a habit yet .___.

Alright, Alright! It's time to set you people straight! I hate being rude but this chick who's telling you about meditation is almost completely wrong about everything!! First, You cannot meditate your self to death! The further down you go, the better because meditating gets you energy. The better the meditation, the more the energy you receive. To meditate you must find a comfortable place (probably laying down on your back) and eliminate all thought. You probably won't go out of body because that takes a ton of energy which you can't get for a pretty long time and by the time you do get the energy, you'll be ready to do it and you'll know it and it won't be scary or anything like that. It's just you in your dream body floating in some random place (the 1st time you do it you can't choose to go or do anything you want to, don't ask me why). You should meditate once or twice a day for 20 minutes, each session. Don't try and think of visualizations because that's still thinking and that's bad for meditation. If you finish and you feel tired or energetic then you've done it right, if not well, read this post again. And if you want "psychic powers", don't hold your breath they won't come for about 5 years of meditating twice a day. And remember: If you think you're doing it wrong. You can also use a mantra to help eliminate thought. Try it out.

Destiny would not have brought you here if you could not do it... yes, it would. Have you tried something then gave up for whatever reason and never went back? I've known a handful of people who have done that, including one of my dads oldest friends. He got so far in spirituality by meditating that he could astral project or go to the Astral plane any time he wanted. He quit after one dream of an Indian who threw an ax at his forehead then before it reached his skin, it turned into light and he woke up and has never done anything spiritual since, knowing full-well the ending outcome of this plane and what happens when he's ready to ascend. It baffles me. Anyway, I know you're trying to be inspirational but still, I thought you should know; every thing's still up in the air before we become seers and ascend. Keep that in mind.

Does Seceraze really feel that high and mighty or what? I mean, seriously, get ahold of your ego man...
Comparing experiences is one thing, but advertising them the way he does is rude and ultimately anti-productive and destructive. When you do that you make yourself look like a jerk, you piss off the people around you, and you ruin what is originally perfectly inocent and peaceful.
