This game is absolutly a must, like Final Fantasy 6 would be in the FF serie.
Did you guys try it? Fire Emblem really did take a step forward in that game!

Yaaaaaay! *waves Seisen flags*
Seisen was my first Fire Emblem, and it remains my favorite. I like the first generation characters more than the second, though. I'm terribly fond of Cuan and Eltoshan, and the whole relationship between the two of them and Sigurd. It's so sad! crying
Second gen has nice characters too, though--I quite like Leaf, and I'm a huge fan of Aless and Lynn.

Finn, Sigurd and Lex were my favorites XD and yeah I must admit its quite sad =P (Know she understands). Leaf was great too, but you know, he has his own game in Thracia 776! This one was really great too, even if it didn't beat Seisen. Hell the Seisen chapters took at least 6 times more times to clear than those on the GBA, the maps were incredibly HUGE and after taking possession of the castle, you were allowed to save and the map would just scroll and you go on with your mission o.o;. You had to be extremly patient in this game tho... Sometimes it takes hours before you can save again x.x;

awr... I never tried Thracia 776 tho =/. But a cartridge of it must be -hell- rare.
It's cool that some people remembers the roots of a game. The classics are usualy much better than the actual new games ^^;.
Oh! xd I was so surprised when I brought Lex to that place that was slightly suspicious... And hell he drops his axe and gains an Hero axe o.o; on like... Chapter 2 (I believe). o.O which means that for the rest of the 1st generation, Lex was my man. Hell: he was stronger than my Sigurd... I think it's Sigurd that broke the crappy Lord tradition x.x;. He kicked major axe with that Silver Sword he gains when he get named Holy Knight. Plus he's mounted o.o;. But noone kick as much as Aya (is this the name) with her Meteor strike. 5 hits combo o.o;

Ayra's amazing. If they'd kept that skill around in the GBA installments... *drools*
And her daughter Lakche is just crazy, though. Like, Ayra only even more awesome. whee

XD Hell yeah. Imagin a Sword Master with a BraveSword and the Meteor skill sweatdrop Seeya Fire Dragon. But what impressed me the most is how the battles are made o.o; They actualy are rarely the same. The characters actualy "move" on the batlefield and do sword combos, dodge, jump over the character and continue their combos o.o;.
Inteligent System's always been a GOD in sprite animations!

Seisen!! Whoooo!
I love how you can pick who marries who, and it actually affects how strong their kids are. It's REAL matchmaking. xp

Seisen is by far the best Fire Emblem game ever, and for me, it's tied with Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis as the flat-out best strategy RPG ever. I love the marriage pairing system, and the gigantic maps give it more of a feeling that there's an actual war going on, seeing as many maps have you slaughtering well over 100 people. Overall it's a great game, and it's inexpensive off of most any website that carries import SNES games, so I recommend it to any fan of the series, or just someone who wants a great game to play.

LunarTakiro I love the marriage pairing systemAieeee! I know! XD That's the most awesome feature for me too. It's so totally radical d00d that the matchmaking actually affects how well the children's stats will be in Generation II. XD That's why we're doing the Generation system for SotS too. o.o

*looks around* *guards reproductive organs* "Arr, Generation 2 brats really make me wish I never had pleasure int he first place."
Anyway, this game is awesome. Granted, I can't say anything about graphics, seeing as most Fire Emblems are sprite, but I did appreciate the special skills. Neg. Def. always helped me in the arenas against knights with Holyn. Meteor was a bit..well...over the top (as in too useful and too common), but it was an awesome skill. They should've implemented special skills into the newer games as well. Prayer was sweet, I mean those clerics really didn't just fall over and die at low hp if you had run dry on vulneraries, and you could get gold much more easily with the thief ability. And instead of Nosferatu, they should've used Solar (sometimes gain the amount of hp you hit for) skill.
Alas, the maps were gigantic, but the "Damn, I haev to start this all over again, and kill all 5 bosses over!" reallly got to me. They didn't allow save spots in the middle. I like the fact that you could do just about everything in a castle you captured/owned/started in though. And you could double-guard a castle by having someone on top, and someone at the gate. Yes, the incest introduction was a little creepy, but that's a minor plotline part. I remember the first time I played it, by Chapter 5 I had only Sigurd and Arden beating the crap out of everyone.

I love my little gba fe, but man, I tried emulators for Seisen and I just didn't like it as much... (maybe it was the lack of translation... ) and then I hated Thracia's opening... it kind of struck me as depressing... anyone know of translated emulators?
