If anyone around here likes to read, enjoys watching certain shows on T.V., or has any movies they're really into, or upcoming movies, here's where to discuss it!
The first thing I'd like to say is that I LOVE to read! So you can guess where my part in this conversation will be centered around! I'd recommend anyone the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, she's amazing! I'm currently waiting for the third book to come out! Anyone else into her? ...Anyone see Spider Man 3 yet?

Spidey 3 was awesome. I saw it in IMAX. On Honeymoon. How geeky is that? Anyway, I loved the way they did Venom. He was always my favorite Spidey. OK Dont tell anyone but Spidey was the man when I was little boy. And yes I do have the underoos.

I love to read! I am so excited for the last Harry Potter book to come out. I loved Eragon and Eldest. I love Timothy Findley, Margaret Atwood, and Michael Ondaatje. My favourite book ever is...let's see, probably a tie between Headhunter by Timothy Findley and Life of Pi by Yann Martel. I also love poetry - Rita Dove, Earle Birney, Michael Ondaatje, Cathy Song, ee cummings, etc. etc. etc. I am really into the new teen fantasy trend that is going on too - Artemis Fowl was so funny! ...and Inkheart, and I have sitting on my shelf to be read next, the Dark Materials Trilogy - probably when school is out in June.

Brim, I think you are the only person I know who has liked SM3 so much, but most of them are not real spidey fans. I am waiting for Shrek 3 and pirates.... I know, boring! I love reading, I am usually holed up in a corner reading!! When I am not on the 'puter of course smile I love Kelley Armstrong and Traci Harding, the ubiquitous David Eddings and Anne McCaffrey. Nora Robert/JD Robb are great for light reading, and P J Tracy is pretty good too. I am a bit over Harry Potter, but I will (of course) be buying the last book. Really I could go on and on about the authors I read everything I could get my hands on, but you would be a lot older! And I would hate for you all to miss your grandchildren by making you read the whole lot! biggrin

Dan Brown is awesome. I loved The Da Vincci Code. But all of his books that I've read are truly attention grabbing.

My little sister gave me Twilight to read because I am a big fan of children's literature (since I took a psychology course on it in college.) I must say that I really enjoyed that book. I read it in about a week despite how little time I have to do really anything. It really kept me interested and Edward was really cool. How's that for a vampire romance? lol sweatdrop
Hey Brim, I'm glad you liked Spidey 3. I personally still think the 2nd one was much better. Venom was really cool looking, but I didn't feel like they spent enough time on him (Sandman even more so.)
I just finished reading Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. That was a great book! I didn't expect it to be that enjoyable. Maybe now that I'm older, I can appreciate it a lot more. I'm going to buy the movie soon, and hopefully it will be good. It got good ratings anyway.
If I were to recommend a movie, I would say Pan's Labyrinth. That is one of my new favorites. I was just so taken by the story, the characters, and the amazing scenery. It is very distrurbing and graphic in some parts, but the movie is really beautifully made. Oh, just a warning: It is in spanish with English subtitles. If you can stand subtitles it is definitely worth watching!

I hate when movies are dubbed, so tacky. some people like them better because they don't want to read the subtitles. lol

I do have to agree with you though about dubbing movies. I mean, Passions of the Christ would have been totally different had it been dubbed. I do however watch my old kungfu theater movies dubbed. I just think it is funny how they did it.
