I'm sure if you work hard on your costume, it might be good.Besides, it's the thought that counts right? D:

^_^; I suppose so ^_^; I have a feeling that buying similar clothing from actual brand stores won't count as a costume per se sweatdrop I'll figure something out... whee >_>; Ebay? .>>;
You can buy a costume off ebay.Although, thats what I would do!XD

Well... some people want to create their OWN costumes since they think it isn't their own work if they just buy one on ebay... And it's not available there anyway...
Well... I will cosplay Karin this summer ^^ For Animagic 2007 in Germany.

My advice for cosplaying Karin is this:
Don't spend time worrying about her shorts. You can easily find a pair of short black shorts at Wal-mart, Target, or any department store.
Now for the shirt you will have to make it. My advice is to go to walmart and buy a pattern for the chinese styled shirts that button down. Follow the pattern to get the shape of the outfit and then add your own touch with the 'V' opening in the front and back... also replace the buttons with a zipper that will stay hidden.
The hair??? Well unless you want to get you hair cut like hers ((which I wouldn't)) You will need a wig, but a good one... or at least something that can be styled and brushed with out getting it all tangled up like the Bardie hair does. XD Then get yourself some scissors and have fun... might need hairspray too.
Now the boot are what will be hard... I think it might work if you buy a pair of boots that look similar and cut the toes off and clean up the edges to make it look nice....
But thats all I can think of that might help... I might cosplay her this next October at Oni con... but not sure... bepends if she becomes over cosplayed or not.

For the boots you could also just wear black thigh-high stockings and do something to cover the soles of your feet so you can walk. >.> Umm...
My ideas suck. xP

Hoshikorosu Those are good ideas ^^;
Hm, I already have the black shorts, and I found a seriously similar zipper up shirt online (my mom suggested I should get a chinese styled shirt as well) worth $57 sweatdrop .
For the stockings I was thinking of seriously long black socks I could borrow/buy. I kind of have her hair ; black, long, and sort of spiked o_oU and I have glasses 8D
For the shoes, I could buy those strapped black high-heels (or borrow my moms XD), but with the socks I might have to cut it so my toes would show... that my mother wouldn't be TOO happy about.
Any ideas of where you could purchase those stockings? D: I was thinking of some department store, but I have doubts that they would have something like that...
Man I suck at this gonk What about black pantihoes for the stockings.Or what ever the hell you call them things.
The thin layered stockings that you use to wear under dresses.You can easily get them at Wal-Mart in the women's department.
