Story
522 years before the main Hellsing manga storyline begins, Vlad Dracula, the Prince of Wallachia, has just joined the ranks of the Undead. Now he must rise through them to become the one and only No Life King and exact his revenge against the God who abandoned him. It will certainly be a long and arduous journey, and he will make many friends and enemies along the way. But, in the end, is it really what he wanted?

Rules
1. I will be playing the part of Alucard. As this RP takes place in his early years as a vampire (long before he came into contact with the Hellsing family), he will not be as powerful as he is in the Hellsing manga. If you believe he is still too powerful, notify me, and I will try to tone it down.

2. As this RP takes place 522 years before the main Hellsing storyline (in other words, in 1476), most characters will be original. PM me an application including your character's specifics and, if I like what I see, I will allow you to join in. If you'd like to apply for a not-so-original character (such as the Captain, or an ancestor of Abraham Van Helsing), PM me and tell me your ideas. Perhaps we can work them in.

3. Include this information in your application:
Username:
Character name:
Species:
Man, Dog, or Monster (This determines your character's behavior, and basically means "Are you a person who refuses to give up, but strong enough to accept death when it comes to you? Are you a person who takes orders from someone or something else and seldom thinks for themselves? Or are you a person who is weak and willing to give up your precious humanity because you are afraid of growing old or dying?" The answers are man, dog, or monster, respectively. This status is by no means permanent, and may change as your character develops):
Age (The limit is 3000 years. Your character should act in accordance with your age. The older you are, the colder and more aloof you will become, since you've lived long enough to know that, in the long run, a lot of things aren't important, including lives):
Place of origin (Preferably somewhere on Earth. Be sure to know something about the place your character comes from, as well as the era in which your character was born. Your place of origin should also dictate your behavior, even only slightly. If you have a place of origin in mind but do not want the world to know, you may state your place of origin as "unknown"):
Appearance (Be descriptive, but not too descriptive. You may post pictures):
Biography (May be detailed or ambiguous, but must include your character's present motivations):

4. As this RP is based on Hellsing, the primary "species" you may choose from are humans, vampires, and werewolves. Hybrids are discouraged. Other species are allowed, so long as you OK them with me first. Fantasy species (such as elves and dwarves) are discouraged.

5. There are, of course, certain rules governing vampires' behavior and abilities. These are based upon what we've seen in the manga and what we've read from the original Dracula novel.
There are three ways one can become a vampire:
A. Unique supernatural circumstances (including, but not limited to, practicing black magic, being placed under a curse, or, as in Alucard's case, turning one's back on God and accepting the powers of darkness).
B. When a vampire drinks the blood of a virgin of the opposite sex (seras Victoria is a prime example of this). This produces a sort of dhampir (half-human, half-vampire) which is bound to the vampire that created them (their sire), retains many of their original human characteristics, and lacks most of their sire's full vampyric powers. They become full vampires when they first drink blood of their own free will, and they earn their freedom when they drink the blood of their sire. When a vampire drinks the blood of a non-virgin, they become a mindless ghoul, a zombie that moves under the control of the vampire. When the vampire is killed, their ghouls die as well. Their servant vampires go on "living," but are sometimes "dragged into death" with their masters (due to their strong mental link) and consequently driven to seek death.
C. A baptism of blood in which a human is infected with a vampire's blood (Mina Harker, in the original Dracula novel, is a prime example of this). The virgin rule does not apply here. The transformation takes a few weeks and can be prevented up to the last second if the vampire that caused the infection is killed.
For more information regarding vampires' general strengths, weaknesses, and abilities, consult Bram Stoker's Dracula. Although they may sometimes vary, they should remain fairly consistent. However, vampirism affects everyone in different ways, so your character may posses powers or abilities that no one else does. A vampire's powers and abilities are passed on to any "children" they might sire, thus creating the archetypal "bloodlines".
