Racism is everywhere in our world and we can't deny it. It's definitely not going to stop just yet.
How can we prevent racism??? I'm at a loss of words when it comes to this question.

That's a tough question, one practically impossible to answer. Racism is everywhere, and no matter how hard we try, there will always be someone racist. The best we can hope for is to reduce racism. That will be a hard task in itself, though.
So start with the children. Expose them to people of other nationalities, religions, skin colours etc from an early age, so they can grow up around these people, not see a black person for the first time when they're six, and wonder what that person is.
The adults will be harder to deal with, so, I'm not sure. Send them on an educational program, get the worst cases together and see what motivates them, then work from there.
That's the best I can come up with right now. It won't solve all the problems, but it'll help.

The only way is to hope that all the generations before ours dies off and then our generation teaches the next generation that Racism is bad...however, some of our generation parents/grandparents might warp our generation and that trend won't stop....but other wise no short term

There's no real way to "cure" racism. There will always be racists, however we can work to decrease the number. All I can really think of though is increasing interracial adoptions (ex. white family adopting a black child), promoting interracial couples, and interracial friendships.

Hatred based on ignorance is combated with knowledge and education.

People who hate themselves will always find reasons to hate others more. People who have options in their lives tend to hate themselves, and therefore others, less. So, giving people options - in the form of education, transportation, communication, etc etc - inherently helps reduce racism and other forms of hatred.

I honestly don't really know how to answer this question. It's a great question and one to think on, but I'm just not sure how to answer.
Racism isn't in my mind at all, I mean I hate no one. I think the best way to stop racism, is to teach children, but then that really wouldn't work if they are learning to hate at home.
I was raised to respect everyone, regardless of race, sexuality, or belief...but yet even though I was raised to be open-minded and to respect other people, there are members of my family who are racist. How is it possible that even though my mom's father wasn't racist, her mother was, and my mom is not racist, but she has several brothers and sisters who are? Same goes for my dad?
I think education plays a big role, but if you sit back and think about it, those who are racist are the ones who are also VERY closed minded as well.
Is there a cure? No, at least not yet, maybe there will be someday...but I doubt that I'll ever live to see it.

It's my belief that the only way to bring down racism is to whittle it down a little at a time.
Not easy and not immediate but probably the best option.

Well, we could brainwash all of society or use some kind of drug to suppress our human instinct to distinguish differences between one another, but I highly doubt we would actually do such an idea.
Racism is just one of many flaws in man. The only way to overcome it is wait till everyone is the same skin color from the years of crossbreeding or do what I stated above.

Racism is over rated. Its just like a debate with gay/straight people. Its just overrated and should just be left alone... :/

That's true. Racism isn't going anywhere. I mean you can try to tell people that they are all equals but some folks are just impossible to deal with. That's why racism won't die.

I think a lot of people commit racist acts who aren't racist, and a lot of racists don't show it and keep it hidden.
Racism all boils down to people not being able to understand another culture, and feeling threatened, intimidated and confused. They automatically go into a defensive mode about the subject and try to think of ways to convince themselves that they're better than the other. We're afraid of change, and anything seemingly different than us.
Racism, in my eyes, is just another phase in life that every human must reach and cross. If we could get the message through to everyone that we're all the just the same under our skin, and that we shouldn't feel threatened by one another at an early age. It'd solve most of it. There's always going to be a few that just wont accept it, and those are the people that we label racists.
We'll never completely rule it out, but for the majority, it can be helped through simple education on different cultures.
Straight towards the Gay. Jocks towards Goths. Pretty towards the Ugly. Intelligent towards the Stupid. It's all the same, hate those who are different because we can't relate to them. It can be helped though.

Racism isn't going to go anywhere. But it can be improved by not making such a fuss about it.
I'm sure plenty of people have heard of the song "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist". It's true, and a little bit of racism is OK - it 'doesn't mean you go around committiiiiing hate criiiiiimes'.
The thing is, society can make a huge fuss over the tiniest of racism, stuff that doesn't really affect anyone at all, except the hyper-sensitive. Some political correctness is ridiculous. It annoys those who have to stop what they were doing before and can embarass members of the minority group that were meant to be 'protected'. As for some other members of the minority, after a while it can end up constantly reminding them that they are being 'discriminated against' and tadaa, they can end up hating the majority groups as a result.
By pointing out racism all the time it only makes racism more of the elephant in the room. But it doesn't have to be (at least, not when the tiny things are concerned. I'm not saying it should be totally ignored, as there are some terrible racist acts committed every day and they shouldn't be).
Stop MAKING racism a big deal, and it'll stop BEING a big deal.

Combine the races into a single hybrid society. It's fact that the more you breed into different races, the stronger your immune system becomes. Plus, you can't be racist against any of the races if you are all of the races. ^^
