Is cool. I just recently bought 21 of his short stories and 36 of his poems. He's very dark, and somewhat depressing, but he's a very good writer.

Personally, I think he's somewhat overrated. Outside of horror and macabre his work barely deserved to be published, and despite what he himself thought, his prose is better than his poetry.
That being said, however, he does have a very good knack for the horror and macabre. smile I've read all his short stories and a selection of his poetry - my favourite has to be Masque of the Red Death.

I haven't read much of Poe, but I do like it...It must appeal to the dark side of myself...I really like the Raven.

I've been too busy and hyperactive to finish reading the Raven, and Masque of Red Death is the next story I plan on reading.

poes short stories are some of the best i have ever read
i respect him alot
expecially after our teacher told us about his life

I don't know much about his life. I've just read some of his stuff and I liked it. We read the Tell-Tale Heart in eighth grade and I have a little book with some of his stuff in it.

Poe is awesome! I love his poetry the most though. The Raven and The Tell-Tale Heart are by far my favorite though!

Bob_Henry they're probably the most commonly known too. Yeah. We read some in reading and that is what got me hooked.
