Rules of Roleplay!

1. NO CYBERING! Ew! But romance is encouraged.
If you HAVE to include a sex scene, make it Pg-13 rated.

2. Be literate! Try not to do one-liners.

3. No "godmodding" (no auto hits or immortality...
vampires/demons/etc are not immortal!)
Try not to do instant KO's or kills...we
WANT our characters to last.
Deadly illnesses allowed, only if there's
antidotes or findable treatments.

4. What RealSilverDragon and
2Cute2BStraight says is LAW,
and can alter any post at any time

5. Pictures allowed, no nudity.
Anime accepted.

6. Any out-of-game context should begin with "OG:",
phrases surrounded by "[[ ]]", or by
a different color. If you choose to create your own
out-of-game references, feel free, I just happen to
find this form much easier.

7. All roleplays should be kept in the same point-of-view and tense.
(IE - first-person POV, third-person POV / past, present, or future tense.)
(But not every roleplay has to match; each one can be different, but it
is nice to see uniform roleplays.)

8. If you choose not to roleplay anymore,
don't kill off your character. Instead, talk to the other
rolepley members and see if you are able to
"transfer" your character's powers to
someone else. Just killing your character is
unethical and immoral.

9. PLAY FAIR! Everyone deserves a chance to play
no matter how new they are.

10. If you wish to advertise your own Roleplay
threads/guilds or threads/guilds of others, please feel free
to do so, but each thread header must have
"Advertisement" in it somewhere.

11. More rules may be later added, so all must
check back once in awhile to see updates.

II. Game Contents

The big key of this roleplay forum...

You DON'T HAVE TO relate it all to BtVS or TC!

You can form a roleplay based on ANYTHING!

Also:
THERE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A SET PREFERENCE/"CHARACTER SHEET" FOR EVERY THREAD!
EACH THREAD DESIGNER CAN MAKE UP HIS/HER OWN GAME SETTINGS!

Games, Stories, and Campaigns can be based on ANYTHING from:
different TV shows/movies,
romance, school/campus-play,
D&D (Go Nerds! mrgreen ),
books, crossovers,
fantasy, military, sci-fi,
history, anime, etc.

Also:
Each roleplay doesn't even have to be made like a story.
A roleplay can be something as simple as if you're talking on
AIM, MSN, or whatever. You know, when you put
*action*
like:

*hugs*
*runs*
etc

The roleplay can be ANYTHING you want it to be.

III. Game Help

A. Out-of-Game Help
You can use color to identify out-of-game talking as well as brackets ( [[text]], {{text}}, ((text)), etc. It doesn't have to be in bold) or by adding an "OG" in front of a sentence or entry.

OG: This is an example of out-of-game talking.
[[This another example of out-of-game talking]]
This another example of out-of-game talking.

[[Below are examples of in-game talking. My story is written in third-person past-tense.]]

[[This is an example of a one-liner. Try to stay away from these.]]
Lynnae left her house early in the morning and headed down the road.

[[This is a good example of an entry. Try to take turns posting so a good story can develop.]]
Lynnae left her house early in the morning and headed down the road. She was headed to the nearest village where the squatters found her to be an angel. They seemed to worship her as this because she had wings. Born with wings at birth to a half-breed eagle/human man and a mortal woman, Lynnae's wings were a gleaming red with a slight orange tinge.

[[etc, etc, etc.]]

[[This entry is also in the Sample Roleplay - "Back to Basics" Campaign]]

B. In-Game Help
Obviously when writing stories, one must put spoken text in quotes ("text")

For example:

"Lynnae said she was going out," Ice said.
"I feel like having dinner," I say.
"What time is it?" he asked.
"I love cheese!" Lynnae exclaimed.

You can show many different expressions and tones-of-voice by expanding your vocabulary and using different advectives.

If your character is thinking, you can incorporate italics.

For example:
I'm hungry, Ice thought.
Where are we going? Ice asked through his mind-speech.

Thanks Ice for the suggestions.

IV. D&D Player's Handbook v.3.5 Help

[[Thank you Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook v.3.5! Yes, I'm a D&D nerd... cool ]]

A. How to Roleplay (The D&D Game)
"The D&D game is a fantasy game of your imagination. It's part acting, part storytelling, part social interaction, part war game, .... You and your friends create characters that develop and grow with each adventure...."

"Your character is an adventurer, a hero [[or villian]] who sets out on epic quests for fortune or glory [[or hack'n'slash lol]]. Other characters join your adventuring.... These quests unfold as stories created by the actions of your characters perform...."

Basically, you're creating your inner warrior no matter what type of warrior it is.

[[The ... was where the book included dice rolling. Obviously, we're not using dice.]]

Please go here if you need more help with D&D.

V. Disclaimer

1. Thanks to the Dungeons and Dragons Handbook v.3.5
--> All information used in the thread is compliments of it.

2. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW ANY OF THESE EXAMPLES!
--> You are able to create your own roleplay no matter how you
wish to play. I do, however, expect you to follow the main rules
on this thread. Thanks.
