Flip of Darkstar Are you good at Public relations? Are you skilled in the manners of manipulating the media? THis is the area where those within the PR section can discuss recruiting and propaganda techniques. Skilled doesn't even begin to describe... There is only one factor: people. More specifically: the people who already control the media. Control their information, you control the media's information. Control is simply a matter of logically releasing information at appropriatly timed intervals and in limited quantities.

Realistic Goals
1. Bolstering our ranks with loyal and competent members
2. Expanding to other forums
3. Getting members with real world leverage
4. Building a stronger reputation
5. Creating a political party to give us weight and to recruit unwitting supporters

That's all I can think of for now. Of course each one of these has it's own problems...
1. Problem #1 will be difficult at this stage considering half the people who join will probably post once or twice before forgetting about the guild. While you might say we don't really want these types of members anyways, it's still grossly inefficient and can leave us in poor standing if we attract bad company.
2. Spreading to other forums is easy, all we need is a list of potential sites and people who are in good standing wherever we're recruiting.
3. Our problem here is an invitation into Darkstar is damn near worthless right now. I suppose for now though we could settle with "I know this guy who works as an intern at _____. Maybe he'll join!" But in the future, we're going to need people capable of white collar sabotage and a small army of lawyers.
4. This is probably the most difficult. I mean, a forum based attempt to take over the world just doesn't strike the same sort of fear and awe a normal secret organization does. For this we definitely need to bolster our numbers, maybe make a website with some of swanky information restrictions for each level of member (even if some of the ranks are under filled and rather meaningless). Basically, we need to create a small buzz that doesn't give away anything except a name and some rumors, something to build mystique.
5. While this may not seem like a public relations problem yet (considering the party still needs to be built) the message the party carries and the way it interacts with Darkstar needs to be discussed. Everything, from what the party "stands for" to the way it'll spread it's message are all public relations problems.

Sit and observe until absolutly certain that 'so-and-so' would make a good addition. After you've identified such individuals, all that remains is convincing them to join. This isn't too hard if the selection process is very thorough as you'd be asking people already somewhat pre-disposed to joining.

This is strictly for mass recruiting of course; for good people with actual opinions we'll still use the hand picked method.

'mass recruitment' issue. Exactly how could it be tied in with image/rep
building?
