This is mostly for my own purposes, and will be for more Torment related storylines later on so I have one for each character. It will likely be more for short excerpts from Torment's non-Brink life to give some insight into whats going on.

~~~Begin-A Child in Need~~~
~~~Location: Metro area of a large city~~~

Darkness fell around him as he slumped down to a crouching position, his two great wings pulling around him like some gargoyle released from the confines of stone. Around him these brothers of stoneperched, covered in bird s**t and forgotten by all those who didn't try to end their lives. Torment had not come here to end his life, but to ponderthe possibility of a new one.

By no means had he impregnated his wife, to his knowledge anyhow, for she had made no mention either way and did not seem to be acting any differently. His eyes rested on the future, the possibilities. He didn't know if he was ready to have a child, but it had been thrust upon him in another form by an old friend. He offered his aid, and now a sixteen year old male had been entrusted to his care, if not somewhat forcibly by himself, without intending to. He hadn't meant to insult his friend, but everything has a grain of truth, even the harshest of words, if not exclusively.

The young man was more like his real father than he could know, and the hate that had formed in the lad for his father made him more like Torment than he could imagine. Perhaps that was why Torment had taken an interest in the boy, perhaps Torment had finally gone insane. Whichever was the case, it wasn't exactly implying the best. Nik, son of Vincent Colbini. Torment didn't even know his last name. He could only assume he didn't have the same as Vince, never even having met him until the tenth year of his life.

Torment has ill prepared to deal with a young man, much less act as a father figure, however temporarily. How in the hell was he going to care for the teen, regardless of the fact he seemed to be able to take care of himself. He needed to get to Nik, show him that the hatred he holds for his father will get him nowhere. Torment hated his father for centuries, and all it caused him was grief and pain. The reasons behind the hate may not be the same, but it mattered little, the type of hate was exactly the same.

He needed to talk to Kalie.

~~~Metro area Cafe~~~
Torment sat at one of the tables, looking down into a drink he had no intention of ever finishing. At the next table over sat the love of his life, lazily drinking her own, a silence having fallen between them. The two had to be rather discrete, having gotten onto the bad side of the law in times past, the both of them. It was almost an act of pure defiance to sit within a cafe no more than two blocks from the GPD headquarters, but knowing the organization as well as they did they could have sat out front with signs describing who they were and little would be done.
Torment broke the silence, "He's never told me. All this time and only just now is he telling me he has a son. What do I do? Typical me, I insult his parenting to get on the kid's good side and it gets me jack s**t. The boy is misguided, his hate for his father has a strong basis, but it will destroy them both if its not resolved. Vince is destroying himself and Nik will destroy a part of himself if he removes Vince from his life entirely. I don't know what to do Kalie, I don't have all the answers this time and no cards up my sleeve."
~Home of Torment 'The Azure Phoenix' Nusradai and wife Kalie Dark~
~Master Bedroom-Second Floor~
~First of Five Sunrises~
Torment stood at the window staring out over the cold steel of the Razor Grasses as the first sun began to rise in the distance. Of his clothing he wore only his pants, having just roused from a rather peaceful sleep after having been up late into the night with his wife. She had not yet awakened from her sleep, but Tor thought it was probably for the best, he needed to think for a time anyhow. The little b*****d was as stubborn, if not moreso than his father, which was making getting through to him rather hard. He either seemed not to see the similarities and that the hate would get him nowhere. If Torment himself had to become a martyr to this cause, then so be it.
