Yup. Same with their battle styles. Ichigo is all about offense, and he needs defense to even it out. With Rukia, it would be offense and offense, and that's not healthy...

YAY! I like you! 3nodding His dad is a shinigami?! woooah i'm behind! And also on episode 30 everything Rukia talked about from the real world had to do with Ichigo and her face softened. And when he heard about it, he got all determined to rescue her, and when he's fighting Renji he tells him he'll beat every lieutenant, captain, or whatever gets in his way until he can rescue her. heart

This may come around and be used against me, but...
Ichigo uses that same sort of resolve when he goes to rescue Orihime.
And sure, IchixHime is one-sided, but at least it's better than IchixRuki where there isn't any proof of romantic interest on either side. There's affection, but it's a little too sibling-ish.

Not all romantical relationships start out with a 'OMGZ, I LUFFERZ HIM, SO WE GET MARRIED' kind. Most healthy and strong relationships start out with friendship, or affection that turn romantical. Thier relationship is also a love-hate relationship. Just beacuse there aren't any 'blushing' or 'kissing', doesn't mean that their relationship is a sibling love and will stay that way.

In an IchixOri forum I'm in, we're talking about Kaien and his wife. Ichigo looks a lot like Kaien, and in the anime, Orihime looks a lot like Kaien's wife. Even in the manga, where they only show her profile, she's pretty Orihime-ish. So we've developed this theory that maybe Ichigo is a reincarnation of Kaien, and Orihime his wife. The two died around the same time, wife-san first, and then Kaien. And Ichigo and Orihime were born around the same time, Orihime first and then Ichigo.
It's just a theory we have. We also had one involving the Tanabata story, until we found out that the person who suggested it got Tanabata confused with Obon.
