I do not know if this young fellow will ever become my steed, but so long as he behaves himself he is welcome to live here in my stables. I have taken him in, as he has become separated from his herd.

Eirwyn created this portrait of him, and the artwork is NOT to be taken by anyone. He is quite definately not feedable; if he were, he would become positively rotund. Nor is he breedable, as he seems disdainful of other horses for some reason. Perhaps I shall learn more about him in time.

Greetings, Big Mouth! I heard a whinny when I brought my friend Roly-Poly into the stable. He will be in the stall next to yours. I'm sure you will be good friends. Roly-Poly likes mischief of the kind that brings joy and laughter, and I can tell by the look on your face that you are mischievous! Next time I come to the stables, I'll bring you a carrot, with Sir Oscar's permission. I know you need to watch your girth, so if I can't offer the carrot, I'll at least come and pat your nose!

We think you are right, Furamir, but we won't let that grin fool us into giving him anything that wouldn't be good for him.
Hi, Big Mouth! This is my friend Roly Poly. You two are neigh-bors. xd
*Big Mouth and Roly Poly "laugh" and rub noses*

Perhaps having a friend here will settle BigMouth and his rather rowdy, irreverent tendencies. He needs to learn to follow rules sometimes, not do as he pleases and eat whatever he wishes all day long. He is a young fellow of course, and approximately adolescent in development, so I suppose such rebelliousness is to be expected. But if he allows his behavior to cause harm or damage, I shall not be lenient! *Looks sternly at BigMouth* Do you understand? I know you are not malicious, but you are often thoughtless of any save your own pursuits. You have a neighbor now, so be a good friend to him.

*BigMouth pretends he is not listening to this very stern and bossy little bear*

*passing by Big Mouth's stall with Roly Poly on the way to the pasture*
Greetings, Big Mouth!
*Big Mouth peeks out of the corner of his eye, but doesn't turn around.*
It's too bad you are busy. We are going to the pasture and would love to have your company, but maybe another time. Say "Hello," to Sir Oscar and Furamir for us if you see them before we do.
*climbs on Roly Poly's back and they hop out of the stables. Big Mouth turns around and sticks his head out of his stall to watch them go.*

Hi, Big Mouth! Do we have you to thank for keeping Roly-Poly's stall so nice and sweet-smelling with fresh straw?
*Big Mouth swishes his tail and shows all his teeth in (presumably) happiness at seeing Roly Poly*
I'll check with Sir Oscar and see if I can bring you a treat the next time I come out to the stables. We're glad to see you, old friend!
*Roly-Poly and Lady Gladys move on to Roly-Poly's stall*

User Image Hello, Big Mouth! What has you so perturbed this fine day?
*Hearing mewing sounds, Furamir peers into the stall and finds all the kittens have invaded Big Mouth's living space and and creeping and climbing everywhere, often right under his feet. Big Mouth looks highly exasperated, but also worried about the tiny creatures so near his hooves, and he gives Furamir a pleading look.*

lol No fear, Big Mouth! I will come to your rescue!

*enters the stall and begins gathering an armful of squirming kittens*

Hi Bigmouth!
I heard the kittens like your stall! Aren't you glad you have a nice warm stable for the winter...even if it does get invaded periodically by kittens? The horses near me have warm barns to sleep in, but they are all outside in the snow during the day. Some are very furry, and others wear blankets with some sort of turtleneck attachment I've never seen before. Sometimes the local elk come and join them in their pastures to snitch the good feed. With your appetite, I don't think you would like having to share not only with other horses but also with elk. Well, stay warm and enjoy the kitten-free environment.
