Stepping from the center of the city through a wide arc, an expansive garden comes into view. The trees are twisted and ancient, some no taller than a man. Streams run through the whole of the city, some into ponds full of fish, others into waterfalls that continue on. Elelgantly arched bridges span the stream at the foot of each of the beaten pathways. Artistic pilings of stone are everywhere as well as sculptures and shrines to the goddess. Bordering large flowering gardens are small plots of brushed white and black sand. The buildings in this quarter of the city are simple, yet beautiful in their simplicity with walls of paper and wood. Hanging over the main streets are glowing orbs much like the xeol, swaying from the ropes that hold them up. The air is fragrant with the scent of flowers and incense. The largest building in the center of the quarter, is Menefer's palace. An entire wing of this palace is full of shelves lined with samples of plants and scrolls upon scrolls dedicated to his life long research of herbs. Welcome to the tranquility of Hisori Kyuui.

Veon followed Menefer deep into the confines of the area, admiring the splendor and the tranquility that was rarely felt throughout the fire nation. He flexed his hands, watching the folds of the ripped gloves close over his skin. "How long have you been working on this. You never mentioned it to me."

Menefer walked through a gate in the wall surrounding his palace. He slid a door open for Veon and stepped in. The room was small and dark. Bunches of dried herbs hung everywhere. This was a workshop, the place where Nef did his most significant work. Tables lined with bowls, vials, knives and other such tools lined all but the far wall, where another door led to the winding staircase to Menefer's quarters. He waved his hand and a number of lanterns flickered to life illuminating the whole room.

Menefer shook his head slightly already too engrossed in his work. The satchel had been opened and samples were already sepparated and catalogued. Nef took the rest of the mixture and portioned it out into phials before steeping a serving of it in a complicated series of tubes and beakers. After a few hours of very tedious work, Menefer took a droplet of the pinkish liquid and applied it to another solution in a dish. The mixture of the two turned clear and Nef's eyes went as large as saucers.
"V-Veon..." he stammered. "This is it. It works!"

"I'm sure... Veon I'm willing to bet my life on it..." Menefer took the phial and swallowed it's contents with a single gulp. "It will take an hour or so for it to spread through my system appropriately." He set the empty crystal phial down and walked towards the door at the far end of the room. Nef slid it open to reveal a winding staircase. The light went out in the workshop and suddenly the staircase was lit. "Come with me..."
