Are you travelling somewhere for this first holiday of the summer? Do the alarmingly exorbitant prices of automobile fuel cause your person to make plans nearer to home. or even stay home altogether? Are you having company, or attending a gathering? Are you going to watch the Races, go to one of the summer's big new movies, or sally forth to attack the holiday sales? Let us know!
*(If you have another holiday you like best for the poll, please elaborate below if you like--the poll seems only to have ten option spaces! lol )

My person is staying pretty close to home. She has little outings with friends planned for each day of the weekend. Her Sunday and Monday plans involve teen-aged young ladies she has known since they were very small persons. She is also helping a friend pack up a huge teddy bear collection for temporary hibernation while their person's house gets new carpeting. Speaking as a bear, they will be delighted to curl up in nice comfortable baskets in a nice cool basement for a few days.
In our house Easter is the favorite holiday. I am almost the only bear in residence, but Roly Poly is one of many rabbits. They like Easter, and our person loves decorating eggs in the Ukrainian style with melted wax and dyes. She does this each Easter season with her "adopted" family--the ones she will be seeing on Monday. She didn't make this egg, but it is typical of the traditional style. Last fall, she helped little children make the eggs during her town's Heritage Festival. It was fun because you can't make a "wrong" egg. The littlest children just scribbled on the eggs with wax, but after they were dyed, they looked beautiful.

July Fourth is rushing upon us already. That is a time of vacations and gatherings for many people, as well as fireworks! whee As yet we have no plans made here. Very likely Eirwyn will go to her parents' again, or perhaps to Maid Lillian's family in Virginia. We shall see.

Did everyone have a good July 4th? smile We ended up staying at home, and Eirwyn spent much of the day working the Marketplace, buying and selling inks now that the price has skyrocketted with the advent of tattoos.

*plays exuberant fanfare* Miradora is coming to New Hampshire to visit for Easter. She will be staying with me and my human. I hope she brings her camera so that she can post a picture of me and our two new kitties.Note that Miradora has finally successfully mastered "image left" rofl

Yes, Adam, Miradora has her plane tickets. She is looking forward to making pysanky the Ukrainian Easter eggs. She's not quite sure if/how she will get them back on the plane. confused They are hard-boiled before the designs are done, but what security will make of them is anyone's guess.

Huzzah! xd
I hope Spring will be colorful in March--Easter will be a bit early this year. Not certain what the plants hereabouts will do when it has been so dry. Even that last fierce storm front that damaged Tennessee & poured so much rain there only gave us a light sprinkling of moisture and strong winds.
Valentine's Day approaches! I'm sure Gaia will celebrate the day, as they have already hinted. Do you suppose we will be kissing everyone again?

This is a semi-completed draft of an experiment that Miradora is making for the item contest. It is supposed to be an Elizabethan-sort-of collar. As you can see, Miradora is not up to Eirwyn's level of skill with computer graphics. She scanned a sketch and is playing with color and tools. rolleyes

That is a most excellent idea! Describe it well in addition to your art! That would appeal to many Gaians, I think! biggrin Show the shoulders as well, to drive home that this is a collar and not a frame--not all Gaians will read the descriptions at voting time.

Happy traveling, Midora! I know it's a bit early but thought I'd give you my best wishes anyway.
My person and I got back from Mexico earlier this week. So, we're staying close to home for Easter. There are a few mini-trips planned but nothing more than a couple of days away from home.
Speaking of eggs, notice my signature? I'm babysitting some dragon eggs for a friend of mine. Please click the eggs and help the "babies" hatch. Apparently healthy eggs are clicked upon eggs. Thanks! cool

Unfortunately there are no eggs nor a link in your signature, Slick! There must be a mistake in your coding somewhere. sad
EDIT: Ahh, now I see them!

Congratulations, Slick! I see that all three of your eggs have hatched. You are an excellent egg-sitter.
Miradora leaves for New Hampshire on Thursday. She should be able to participate in whatever festivities occur around St. Patrick's Day and Easter because she's staying with Adam's human and will have permission to use her computer.
Fellow teds: Please let me know if the orange text is too difficult to read even when "bold". I chose it because it looks "golden" and coordinates with my outfit. In the forums, I put it on the "document" background. Miradora wants me to post more because I'm a walking advertisement for the League, but I don't want to annoy people with an unreadable font.

Yes, thank you, Furamir and Lady Gladys. The hatchlings seem to be fine. I'm a proud uncle.
I like the colored font, Lady Gladys. Suits you! Here's wishing Miradora a wonderful and safe holiday. cool

Eirwyn will be heading to the mountains to visit her parents for a few days during Spring Break next week, so she may not be online very long or often after Tuesday. She needs a break--school has been very stressful to her this semester! She'll have to return just before Easter, however.
