Chapter 1 The Descent
“Orihime please report to mission data, Thank you.”
“Geez don’t they ever quit handing out missions. Sigh oh well I better get going or else I’ll get in trouble.” She got up and walked to the door. It hissed open allowing her to walk into the gloomy hallway. She walked down the hall tell she reached a black door. She stepped through the door into a room that was worse than the hallway.
All the room had inside of it was a; table, chairs viewing screen, and a control panel with a speaker attached to the front. She sat down on the edge of the table as nine other people walked into the room.
The ninth person to walk into the room was general Daniel Page a former war hero of the rebellion war. He walked up to the control panel and pressed a button. A voice came through the speaker.
“how may I help you sir/’the voice asked.
“I need you to load A11-B19 to the view screen and the data pads in the room please,’ the general asked politely while still having a commanding tone.
“Yes sir, please wait,’ the voice said as a loading bar appeared on the viewing screen. The bar slowly started to fill and after about five minutes it was full.” Is there anything else sir.”
“Yes there is Ren, please load the files to the goddess data pads and my personal computer after that delete the original files.”
“Yes sir.” The room went completely silent then the voice came back over.” Sir is the request you asked for is complete is there anything else you would like me to do?”
“Nothing else for now Ren,” the general said as he took a seat.
“Yes sir,” the voice said before it clicked off.
“Okay and now for the mission. 5 months ago at the beginning of the breakout five peoples from hidden alpha cryogenic ally froze. Your mission is to save them at least one of them will have to survive in order for your mission to be successful. Your mission procedure is as follows.’

Inside the room will be five cryopods.”
“You will open these cryopods and retrieve the people inside. Then you will leave New York and head to Long beach, California. There you will find a cargo barge, get on that barge after you are on take the barge 20 miles out to sea and contact us. We will send a drop ship to pick you up.”
“Oh yes there are two rules. Rules one, the cryos are not to be fought with, they are to be treated as equals to you. Rule two cryos are not I repeat are not allowed to touch a weapon. Even if it’s a life or death situation. The reason for this is that we don’t know there mental status so we need to play it safe. There is more data in your data pads but I will try to answer any questions you have. So is there any questions?”
Orihime's hand shot straight up into the air.” When does this mission start?”
“Ah yes I new I was forgetting something. The mission will start at 12:00 Pm tomorrow not a minute later,” the general said in a firm tone.
“Also what is going on with all the missions?” Orihime asked.
“Well all those missions were kinda sort of training for this one, and if you thought those were hard well this one is more then twenty times harder due to one of the people you will be rescuing,” the general said as he looked around the room.
“Sir every mission we’ve gone through turned out perfect. And well that’s because of are team work so this mission will be cake,” one of Orihime's team mates said.
“Your right it will be easy for you guy, now go get some rest your going to need it for tomorrow,” the general said.
“Yes sir,” everyone said as they got up and saluted the general. They all the n walked off to there own destination. Orihime was about to turn into the goddess lounge when she heard someone yelling her name. she turned around to see one of her teammates running up to her.
“What is it Jacob?” Orihime asked.
“I have a question for you,” Jacob replied.
“Well what is it?”
“Isn't your birthday tomorrow?” Jacob asked
“Yes it is.”
“Well I've got a present.” He reached into his pocket, and pulled out a bracelet with a yellow crystal.
“That looks like my fan crystal. Where on earth did you get that?”
“I found it on one of are missions, and crafted it it into a bracelet.”
“Thank you, oh wait I've got something for you. Just wait right where your standing.” She ran into the lounge and came back out with a pack.
“What is it?” Jacob asked as he took the pack.
“Open it because I'm not going to tell you.”
“Okay, okay,” Jacob said as he opened the pack to revel the top of a top of the line laptop.” Wow thanks Orihime.”
“Well thats the gift for you and it should help on the mission,” Orihime said as she started back into the lounge.
“Thank you Orihime.” He turned around and started off towards his room. After he turned around the corner Orihime slipped into the lounge. She walked to her room and into the back bedroom. She walked over to her night desk and turned on the alarm clock.
She lied down on her bed, and as soon as her head hit the pillow she fell asleep. She was woken up by the sound of her annoying alarm clock. She toke a shower and cleaned up. She got out and put on the under layer of her armor. She began to pull on the top layer of the armor as there was a knock on the door.
“Who is it!” Orihime shouted.
“Its Jacob.”
“Hold on one moment.” She finished putting on her armor and then opened the door.” Whats up Jacob?”
“Since we have to leave Ive brought you some breakfast.” He reveled a tray and it had some selections of quick foods on it.
“Thank you,” Orihime said as she picked up one and took a bite out of it.” This is good,” she said as she finished the rest of the food in a few bites.” Now lets be on are way.”
“Okay we'll take the elevator down.” they started down the hallway towards the elevator. They walked for five minutes before they reached the elevators shiny chrome doors. Jacob pressed the call button and in two minute the elevator doors opened. They walked into the square room and pressed the button for the port level.
“Jacob I've got a task for you,” Orihime said as she checked her weapons.
“Whats up Orihime?”
“I need you to watch the others. I know they are talking behind my back. I need you to tell me what they are saying, So will you do it.”
“Sure why not help you out, oh look its are floor.” the doors opened and they stepped of the elevator and onto a metal staircase. They walked down the staircase to meet with the rest of the team.
“Okay team get on the ship and we will start the mission but first I'm going to see if everyone is here. Jacob, Jon, Charlie, Tec, Josh, Brandon, Ben, and Jeff. Okay lets get moving.” She stepped onto the ship and sat in the pilot's seat next to Jacob.” Jacob as soon as we start moving give me the estimated time tell TD.”
“Yes mam,” Jacob said as he pressed a button and the ship began to sink below the floor. Suddenly the lights went out and then Orihime hit another button. The ship dropped and Orihime hit another button and the ships engines came to life and they started towards earth.
“Jacob what is the estimated time?”
“10 minutes tell TD,”
“Thank you Jacob. Okay everyone as soon as we land gather anything that could come in handy and Tec take that heat blocking foam.”
“Yes mam,” they all said.
“Hey Orihime,” Jacob said
“Yes Jacob?”
“TD in 2 ½ minutes.”
“Thank you Jacob. Everyone buckle up this is going to be a bumpy ride.” The ship began to shake violently but after a little time the shaking began to stop. Right before they touched down there was a loud bang and the side of the ship was smashed inward and extremely hot air began to rush in through the holes in the dent.
Orihime activate the defense protocol!” Tec yelled over the noise.
“Okay!” She yelled back as she hit a button and a number pad clicked up. She hit a sequence of numbers and then Jacob hit a button and there was a loud screech then complete silence.
They landed and quickly gathered everything useful inside the ship. Orihime opened up the back of the ship and they all rushed out..
“Okay everyone be on the top of your guard!” Orihime shouted everyone nodded and put there helmets on,” the building is right over there head out. When they finally reached the building they realized the doors were locked.” Jacob hack the door and see if you can find the schematics for the building.”
“Yes mam,” Jacob said as he ran forward and hooked his laptop up. He quickly typed as a sequence of numbers appeared on the screen. He hit one last button and the door popped open.” I've uploaded the 3-D schematics.”
“Good job Jacob now everyone inside so we are a little bit safer that way I can give you your jobs,” Everyone nodded and ran inside like they were told and Jacob then closed the door.” Okay Tec, Josh go to the garage and find vehicles for us to use. Jacob, Jon your with me. The rest of you go and search the building for usable supplies,” Orihime ordered. Her team nodded and ran off to do what they were told.
Orihime and Jon followed Jacob as he led them to the circular room. They went down the halls taking lefts and right turns tell they came to a room that fit the description of the one they were looking for and then walked in.
“Okay you to open the cryopods.” Orihime watched as they opened the cryopods. Suddenly she felt a strong gust of wind come from the fifth cryopod.” I'm going to open the fifth one,” she said as she walked over to the cryopod. She opened it to revel a teenage boy that looked to be her age.
She reached in and shook him awake. He opened his eyes to revel a dark cloudy mysterious gray. He sat up and moved his black bangs out of his eyes. He got out of the cryopod and stretched. Orihime walked up to the front of the room and called for attention.
Chapter 2 Promise
“Okay, cryos you are to follow us. We are going to take you to space station alpha. That is were you will be informed of whats going on. Okay lets move out. Jacob, Jon one of you take up flank and the other take up the back.,”
They walked down the hallway following Jacobs directions to the garage. When they reached the hallway right before the garage when disaster happened.. The ceiling came down with a prey mantis on top of it.
With one swing of its gigantic claw it killed three cryos and injured one. Jacob shot the bug in the head killing it instantly. Jacob and Orihime ran to the hole and took up a guard position.
“Jon go patch up the cryo Jacob call the scavenger team and tell them to head to the garage!” Orihime ordered. Jon quickly ran over to the cryo and injected him with a blood blocking foam.
They got going after a little bit of rest. They then stepped through the door into the garage. They began to look for Tec and Josh. They found Josh walking between two cars.
“Hey Josh!” Orihime shouted. He turned around and waved them over. They quickly joined with there teammate. Josh led them over to Tec who was working on a car.
“So Tec what did you find for us?”
“I found one van, one small military tank, and a car for you. Josh did you get that part I asked for?”
“Oh yeah here it is,” Josh said as he handed the part to Tec.
“What is it?” Orihime asked.
“A OT carburetor, its made for speed so it comes in handy,” Tec said s he finished putting the part in and stood up.” Oh look who it is.”
Orihime turned around and saw the scavenger group walking into the garage.” What took you guys so long?” Orihime asked.
“We got lost what els.”
“Even with the schematic?” Jacob whinnied
“Yep Jacob you get them so perfect that there hard to read.”
“Sorry.”
“No, no thats a compliment without you where would we be right now?”
“No where I guess, So I am good,” Jacob said.
“Yes you are.”
“Okay everyone listen up. Scavenging group and my group you guy are in the van with the cryos. Jacob Josh you two are ion the tank because you found the vehicles. I will be in the car, but first scavenging group did you plant the C-4.?” Orihime asked
“Yes here is the detonator.”
“Good now everyone get into your vehicles so we can get out. Tec Josh you take the lead. .” Everyone ran to there vehicles. They started to leave when the garage door slammed closed.” Blow it open Tec.”
“Yes Orihime,” Tec said. With on blast the door came tumbling down. They continued on and about two miles away Orihime hit the switch on the C-4 detonator. The building came down and they continued there journey to California.
The cryos just sat in the back of the van hoping for the best but there hopes didn't last long as there was a loud riping noise and the roof of the van was ripped off. The injured cryo was the first on to be finished by a gigantic bug on the van. The soldiers looked up quickly but did nothing. The last cryo slid backwards looking at the bug. He then grabbed an assault rifle from the solider next to him causing him to fall into the bugs reach and receive a slash to the chest. The cryo ran forward and quickly unloaded a full clip into the bugs head.
The van stopped and everyone starred at the cryo in amazement until Charlie stood up and grabbed him by the collars of his shirt and yelled at him.” What the hell do you think you are doing!”
“I'm doing something that you guys wouldn't!” the cryo yelled back. Charlie set the cryo down and called Orihime. He then dragged the cryo to Orihime's car and then walked back to the van.
“Okay everyone get moving,” Orihime ordered through her headset. She then clicked off her headset.” So whats your name?”
“My name is Steven Page,” The cryo answered.
“Well my name is Orihime Inoue wind goddess.”
“So your one of the legendary goddess. Its a pleasure to meet you Miss Inoue.”
“Just call me Orihime now tell me about the problem in the van.”
“Okay as you know three cryos were killed in the building and then one more was killed in the van. I watched my friends die and the considersin the van didn't do anything to stop the bug. So I stood up and fought and as I did that another person in the van got hurt and the soldiers still did nothing to help there fallen comrade.”
“So I was the one who got up and killed the bug. Right now your probably wondering why.,” Steven said in an angry voice.
“Why?”
“I did it because I... He put his head down and then sat back,” I hate death I donut want to see any more death,” Steven said.
“What?”
“You all rescued me and I owe you my life and I promise that I will not let you or any of your teammates die. I promise my life to you. My only request is that you train me.” Steven said.
“I can't.”
“I'm asking you with my heart and soul,” Steven pleaded.
“I can't its against my mission.”
“Heck with the mission I'm asking you to help me!” Steven yelled. Suddenly there was a gust off wind in the car.
“I...I...Okay I will train you. Your first lesson will be at are first break point..”
“Where are we heading.”
“California.”
“Then take the third left,” Steven said.
“Okay hold on,” Orihime clicked on her headset and told her team the new directions.. S he then clicked her headset back off and took off her helmet letting her hair down.
“So would you like me to drive tell the first break point?” Steven asked.
“Well okay I could use the rest.” She stopped the car and they quickly switched seats.” wake me up when we get there. Yawn the others know where to stop. Yawwwwn we should be there in about six hours. See you when we stop.”
They drove for hours and due to the shortcut they arrived to the break point in four hours.. Orihime woke up and realized that they had been there for more then an hour.” Steven!” She yelled as she got up.
“Yes Orihime,” Steven said calmly.
“I told you to wake me when we got here in approximately six hours!”
“That was two hours off we arrived here in four hours.”
“Wow well then follow me.” Steven did as he was told and followed her to an area five miles away. Orihime took out a fan and with a single wave the dirt flew into the air and as it settled it formed into a obstical course.
“Your objective is to get to the end of the course and get the green crystal. You will have items flying at you at extreme speeds. We will not move onto the next lesson tell you get through.”
“You may start when you please.”
“I'm ready to go now,” Steven said with a crack of his knuckles<” Lets get this over with.” He walked up to the starting point.” one more thing don't go easy on me.” He took off runningand there was no problems tell two minutes in. He felt a sharp pain run through his back. He quickly ducked behind a rock and listened as there was three more large thumps and clacks from stuff hitting the rock.
He got up and ran towards the next obstcals that looked like barb wire. He dropped to his stomach and began to crawl underneth the the razor sharp rocks. He listen as more objects pelted the rocks above him. He continued to crawl tell the the end where he stood up and took off running.
He was almost halfway when he felt five sharp stabs on his back. He dropped to his knees and in pain, but he quickly recovered and took off running again. He quickly jumped behind a rock took a moment to catch his breath and then started in to a sprint. He could now see the gleaming crystal but before he could reach it he got hit in the back nine times. He dropped to his stomach and was pelted two more times.
Orihime thought he was done but suddenly he slowly started to get back up. Orihime watched as he was pelted as he crawled by rocks going so fast that they looked like bullets, but every time he just got back up on his hands and knees and continued. He rolled behind a rock and piled dirt aroiound the rock leaving himself a peep hole. He looked through the hole and saw a bunch of projectls flying towards himk. He knew that the dirt wouldn't hold so he prepared for a explosion of dirt but it never happened. He looked up and saw that the dirt became rock.
He quickly got up and sprinted towards the crystal. He quickly snatched it off of the stand it was on. He turned around and ssaw that the obstical course dissappeared, everything was gone except for the rocks he hid behind..
“Well done Steven it usally takes four or five trys for other people. Okay lets move on with the training.”
“Okay no break just continue,” Steven said with a smirk.
“fine shoot those five targets.” Steven nodded and turned around in the direction she was pointing and saw five dirt golems.. The golems slowly start to move back and forth. Orihime handed Steven a handgun and he aimed. There five loud bangs and each golem was struck with a bullet destrouying it.” Wow another perfect its just amazing. Now lets move onto the sniper rifle,”
Steven got prepared and this time he quickly planned out a shot that would get rid of more than one bullet. He peulled the trigger and the bullet came out but suddenly it split into two. They each hit a seperate target but the weirdest thing of all was that the bullets were trailed by a trail of water.
“Thats it for today. Lets go back to the convoy.” Steven nodded and they both walked to the car. They arrived in time to hear Tec.
“That damn cryo he is trying to get us in trouble. Plus Orihime trust him way to much. I'm starting to lose my trust for her, and as for the cryo personally I don't trust him. Even more I hate him,” Tec said. Orihime looked at Steven and could tell that what Tec said really hurt him,” Well everyone I'm heading to bed.”
Orihime watched as Jacob rounded the corner.” I'm sure you heard that. Steven I hope that you relize that not all of us feel that way about you. Like me I see you as a likable person for some one of your status.”
“Thanks Jacob. I need some support. Um Jacob.”
“Yes what is it.”
“could you tell me who got hurt on the trip.”
“His name is Jon and he is just fine>”
“Thats great,” Steven said as he wiped his forehead.
“Well I better get to bed, Ill see you two in the morning,” Jacob said as he got into the van. Steven sat down with his back against the car. Orihime sat down next to him and rested her head on his shoulder.
“I'm sorry you had to hear that, Yawn I like you and yo like yourself so it shouldn't matter what others think,” Orihime said as she fell asleep. Steven stood up and covered her with his jacket. He then slid off his shirt and then he picked up a stick. With one swing to test its strength it snapped into three.
“Hey Steven,” Tev said as he got out of the van.
“What is it Tec?” Steven asked.
“I was wondering if you would like to partake in a little friendly sparring?”
“Sure,” Steven said as he stood in a fighting stance. Tec took the first move. He threw a quick punch towards Steven's jaw. Steven dodge the attack and drove his elbow into Tec's bacck. It made contact but Tec quickly recovered and swung his foot around knocking Steven's feet out from under him.
Steven quickly stood up and stepped back. Tec threw three more punches. Steven dodged all three punches and then came back with an extrenly hard punch to his stomach. Before Tec could return a blow Orihime awoke.
“Stop this nonsense right now. Tec you know the rules.”
“Yes mam,” Tec said as he snapped a crisp salute.”
“Good get everyone else up. Oh yes here is your overshirt thsnks for covering me,” Orihime said.
“Your welcome and sorry about that fight he just challenged me and i quickly remembered what he said.”
“I know and i would do that to,” Orihime said.
“I'm so sorry,.”
“Shh its over now.”
“What is.” but before he finished he saw the problem. A bettle appeared out of nowhere. Steven ran forward and kicked its head clean off. Steven looked behind the corpse to see hundreds
