Alot of us seem to talk about our instructors alot. I thought we should have a topic dedicated to them!
Why do you like them? Are they really cool? Do you hate them? Who are they?
My instructors are Michael, Missy, and Barbie. barbie's new - a Freshman in college. Michael's a senior, and Missy's a Junior. Mike and Miss went out for two years, became engaged, broke up, and now Mike's dating Barb. None of them are gay! But they're all really nice. Michael marches/ed with Bushwackers, Light brigade, and Complxty. Missy marched with Complxity and Bushwackers. Michael is great on weapons and flags, Missy's the bestest flag ever, and Barbie's, like, strictly rifle. They're all cool - they're into the same music, movies, styles, books, games, shows, as we are. And we're all really close - Mike's like our Dad, Miss is our Mom, and barb's like an older sister. It's all real cool and I looooove them soooo much! <3

Both of my instructors are pretty tight. Last year we had Erika and Lindsey and Erika just ended up never coming back so we were left with just Lindsey. She has stayed this year and now a current senior is our other instructor, Brittney. I love both of them a lot. Lindsey graduated in 2006 and Brittney is graduating in a few weeks so they are both close in age to the whole guard. They are both really fun to be around so I'm excited for this year :]

I love my instructors heart We have Jason, the show designer and overlord of the guard. He's like, 30-something, just had his third kid, but even though he's older than us he's still really nice. A little crazy (LITTLE?!) sure, but also a genius. The only person with more authority than Jason is Mr. G, the band director and unofficial everything tech. HE loves the guard, and we love him heart Then we have Lisa, the flag tech, also 30-ish. I was on flag this last year, so I love her to death. She doesn't put up with bullshit, and she works us really hard, but it's because of her that we don't completly suck. Then there's Jeremy, the rifle tech, who I think is 27. His nicknames include Scary Face, Mr. Stinky, Buttface, and any other mean name we call him when he's acting like a 5-year-old. He used to scare me, because he's really serious and not exactly the most compassionate person, but now I like him. Then there's Stephanie, the sabre/dance tech and the yougest staff member. She's only 20, and she marched with our guard just a few years back, so she's friends with the juniors and seniors. Personally, I'm annoyed by her. She's shallow, annoying, not a very good tech, and has favorites. But whatever. Besides her, our staff is really expirienced and actually know exactly what they're doing. I totally look up to them.

I'm an instructor! I rock! Okay, so actually my girls probably think I'm a complete b***h because I don't let them slack off or ******** around. But I get results, and I'm actually a lot nicer than my instructor in high school was (my old instructor was the best. Ever) I try not to play favorites, really I do, but its so hard with a small guard (only six girls; this will be the school's second year with a colorguard)
My instructors are James and Frasier, and I heart them both. James writes most of our work and likes to make it crazy-complicated, which is good, but he also like pretty stuff--ballet, if you will--which I don't like. Frasier is more fun and relaxed.

I luffs my instructor Barbie the mostest. She means everything to me. She only taught the past season with us, but, I go to her with all my problems. She's only, like, three or four years apart in age, so we can relate alot. She means the world to me - like an older sister. barbie's my 'lesbian lover' as my other isntructor, Michael told us. We act stupid and cute together.
As she says - 'When we're together, we're the two hottest forces in the universe. We're hotter than the SUN!'

We whine to her all the time, like "Lisaaaa, the sabre's are sitting around talking. CAN WE SIT TOOOO?" and she'll be like "Hell no, we're working. 500 DROP SPINS, GO!" But hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? biggrin Quote: I luffs my instructor Barbie the mostest. She means everything to me. See, that's really cool that you can have a relationship like that. Some of the older girls on the team marched with our instructor Stephanie back in the days, so they're friends and go out after practice and stuff. But towards the end of this winter season, our band director decided that such relationships are "inappropriet" for staff/student. I guess last year there was some huge scandal with the percussion staff, and now he's telling us that we can't do stuff like text our instructors just to say hi, and we can't talk to them outside of practice and stuff. It really sucks stare

Mrs. Proctor is ok. She can be funny...then she can be mean! But she is a great instructor and once you get on her good side....she can also be a great adult to talk to when there is something wrong....I love her and hate her at the same time! lol

My instructor Luis is hillarious at times! He works us very hard, and goofs around with us when he sees it fit. He hates it when we don't try our hardest and says that if we dont work harder highlands will beat us (we dont like Highlands). We have inside jokes and he makes fun of our weaknesses to make us stronger. But never get into his car because he drives very crazy and his car is extremely dirty (I had Found a Mallet under my butt and a sabre poking me in my leg). And he couldn't remember my name for like a year. But he is great at guard. He used to March with the Sacramento Mandarins. But he might not come back next season because he hasn't been paid. And my whole girl is extremely sad about it! crying

my directors are Greg, Bobby, and Barbara. they're like awesome at teaching us stuff, but sometimes they can get sorta mean. like one time at band camp, this one girl had work before so she hadn't had anything to eat. and after a while she was getting like really shaky and sicky looking, and she asked him for like 2 minutes to just eat a granola bar. he said no, and she ended up passing out by the end of practice, and then she was like throwing up. greg was just like "oh. oops."
and another time a couple of guard members had broken their ankles and couldn't do the show. this is what i remember:"we can't have all these girls with injuries. is this some sort of excuse not to do run-throughs? what is this the thing to do, break a bone so you get to miss practice?" and on and on.

Gah, I want to smack our old instructor. >_>; He had been instructing here for like five years, and ever since he came here, our guard started getting 1's at competitions and s**t.
But this year, he left us for some really ghetto school that no one cares about. gonk I really liked this guy, he was pretty tight (although he didn't really like me).
I mean, no offense to our new instructor, because she's really talented and awesome and I like her personality better, but I just miss our old director's work. D:
