Does anyone have simple recipes for me to try? My 2 year old doesnt like meat or veggies! I cant seem to chop anything small enough to escape his notice. It is a problem because hes anemic and all he wants to eat is rice or pasta domokun I have tried putting everything on his plate and letting him pick at it at his own pace.... every thing other than the pastas end up on the floor. Ive tried force feeding him and all that results in is gagging, biting, screaming.... you know, the whole 2 year old attitude lol Simple, healthy recipes? Anyone?

I have tried not giving him pasta. He will not eat anything.... throws it on the floor, plate and all usually, and then screams his head off for the rest of the night because he is hungry. Its probably my fault it has gotten this far redface The teachers at his school say he eats things just fine there. I cant be *that* bad of a cook I hope!! Everyone else likes the stuff rofl I havent tried MAKING veggie pasta, but I do buy the garden pasta at the store and buy foods that are "enriched" but I dont know if they are really any better stare
On a side note, he did eat 2 bites of chicken last night.

does he like raw veggies? most kids like dipping carrots in ranch dressing. I know it sounds gross but my kid used to dip her green beans in ketchup. I know hot dogs aren't that healthy but does he like them? He could dip them in ketchup or mustard. I guess what I trying to say is make eating more fun or like a game.

Heh, tots are fun eh?
Mine goes through phases of picky and not picky. I give her sliced cucumbers, and she'll eat the baby food green beans (yuck)...but other than that sometimes I'll get her to eat "trees" (brocoli) and maybe a bite of "leafies" (salad)...lol
What about sauces? does he eat sauce on his pasta? You can sneak veggies and meat in that or soup. Does he like eggs at all?

the only sauce he really likes is alfredo sauce... go figure! I can get him to eat some speghetti sauce, some of the time. Hoping this is just a phase and hes starting to out grow it... he has had a few bites of meat for the last few days and salad too!
Does anyone else have an issue with their kid eating margarine straight from the bucket?? Ever since niyah learned how to open the fridge thats the only thing she takes out lol... she also finger paints on the floor with eggs if i dont catch her! She sure is sneaky razz

Oh heck I used to eat straight butter! Yum! Not now of course, but I see Gabriel likes butter too. If I give it to him on toast, he will pick the pieces off and eat it plain first. domokun
As for the meat and pasta wars, I believe giving in to a kids wants over thier needs trains them to throw horrible fits. Been there. In fact, even though Gabe doesn't get away with it so much with me, I watch him totally work his granddad, he is a total softy, tried to get whatever the boy wants to shut him up! I would treat "breaking" the pasta habit like breaking the binky. Just dig your heels in and get ready for a week of hell, don't make any pasta, don't serve any breads. It will not last forever, I promise. Eating what we WANT is an american indulgence, it's like we have to re train ourselves to eat what we NEED just to be healthy. Ha ha ha.. I ramble.. that's my two cents! 4laugh
