Ive got most of Amazing Grace down...
half of Classical Thump to speed...
busted my thumb open the other night after playing it for like 4 hours straight... not used to the double thump technique... so I bled alot and now I have a huge hole in my thumb...

I am awed and inspired by the man. Unfortunatley, I can't get my hands on any albums of his, so I am without the proper learning tools. I do have a bit of Classical Thump and Norwegian Wood down, but I'm still working on it. I split my middle finger open trying to play some of his stuff not to long ago. Blood is hard to clean off strings biggrin

haha yea.. try using some rubbing alchol.. it should come off.. but it will stain the strings. spliting my fingers open happens to me alot playing my bass and my guitar.. the double thumb tech. is actually pretty easy to learn. it took me about 3 weeks to get it down, if anyone wants to see a fun wooten song.. look up me and my bass guitar

Im *attemting* to learn U Cant Hold No Groove but my double thumping skills are...lacking. Btw I got a really good Victor Wooten & Steve Bailey CD called Bass Extremes. You guys should look it up. U Cant Hold No Groove is his best song by far! Watch a video of it at my profile.

I've watched some of his solos on Youtube but I don't really know much about his work. I like the solos, though. Very fast and he uses a lot of techniques so it's not boring.

Victor Wooten is an innovational pop and slap style bass player that i believe is playing with Soul Asylum right now. Wikipedia him and look up his amazing grace solo on youtube.
