Please don't be offended by this...I just need to rant a moment.
I'm annoyed with Gaia. You know why?
They are paranoid, and removing things that were working perfectly fine just because a few new people are complaining about scams.
I mean, really, I can understand how none of us like scammers or hackers, blah blah, it stinks to have your account hacked, etc., and for that, hey, I can take a few warnings being posted on Gaia so only stupid people get scammed. But this other junk. No more friends-list sending, no more multiple sending if they're not on your friends-list (a pain in the butt, in many cases, trust me..) no more banks, what's next? Are they going to censor what we write in our journals or signatures (beyond the understandable size limitations)? Tell us we can't do charity threads/guilds or any giveaways that require a small entry fee (like raffles)???
To be honest, I'm just sick of it. I wish they'd give us back what we had when I joined, at least, and leave it there. Post a few more warnings and ignore the protests of noobs who know better, but won't use that knowledge for anything!

I've only been really active like, a year(or maybe longer... I'm not really sure) and they've gone and changed so much... Yea, it annoyed the hell out of me when they first really changed the site. But, once I got used to it, I liked it better. Now they've gone and gotten rid of everything that worked. Especially that one icon bar thing that told you all sorts of crap and replaced it with the speech bubble thing. What possesed tem to do that? I loved that thing, now we have to go to another page(provided you know which it is) just to get to the same places the icons took you to. It's so freaking annoying...
And based on what you said Xin. I have a coupla friends who got hacked so many times it's not funny, but neither of them are were idiots. And, a lot of it's common sense. You don't give your password to people you don't know(I've given it to friends (real-world) to keep up with stuff like daily chance, but that's it...) and just common sense. If you get a pm asking for your password, report the idiot!! They're too focused on making everyone happy that they don't realize they're pissing off the people who've been here longer and are on 24/7.

I apologize, a lot of the calling people idiots was much in the "ranting/venting" territory...I can understand hacking problems, but that's a site security matter, not anything to do with the interface we users use...

Why? You've never read anytihng I wrote while really ranting, I can be such a b***h.... There's no point in appologizing, it's true. As for hacking, it's honestly become a fact of life. Yea, it sucks, but suck it up and deal with it. Now, they're trying so hard to prevent it they're catching wrong people. A friend had a mule and had gotten some gold on it, only 5k, and was sending it to her main account and both were closed til Dec. Sorry, im particularly moody right now and am somewhat annoyed at everything... Ignore all this...

And I'm pissed off too.
...because IT'S NOT REAL.
And even if you invest money in it... (like I've bought donation items)...

yea i miss it too the thing is that it was used more for chains then for actually talking to yuor friends so yea but i used to donate myself kiwi-chan i've spent my share of money in gaia sweatdrop

But now most the donation items are crappy...
Oh, and Xin, the part about my friends isn't in relation to this, they're just all being idiots and having issues... Anyway, back to my ranting...
Well, now they're so focused on making the new people happy anc getting more that they're forgetting what works and that other people have been here longer and hate the changes made.

I can certainly understand people complaining about the newbs getting halfway good-looking clothing upon joining (instead of peasant garb like us vintage members), but I know that isn't going to change: The items are already there, the system has already incorporated it, it can't be changed.
But this friendlist option: It's not that hard to put it back on. And the banks are even easier to fix back to the way they were, just tell the banks they can work again!

But seriously... friendlist mailing... I didn't try to scam people but had so much fun 'spamming'. smile Meaning things I felt were important but which I knew no one agreed with me on that point...
