[Banner-Character Profile]

.<.<.<.<
.>>"It was a cold dawn when we saw the movement of the avariels coming to pass over our town. The previous night had brought several feet of snow but, as luck would have it, the storm still roared in our area and was leaving the entire land under a cold white blanket of frost. Everything was sighing with the moaning of the wind and sounded of freezing ice...

...Until the avarians flew over our town.

The sound of the flapping wings was like the sigh of the stars and fluttering of the silver-like feathers rained down tid bits of melody made of cloud strands and they brought a little glimse of beauty as they flew over our town. I was in the church lounging room with my companions and the frair, and we all were crowded against the window and fireplace, pressing our faces to watch the sky parade through the storm. Some of us held fear for the avariels because the storm was begining to grow again in earnest. The winds blew harder and colder, ice shards and hail forming in the very air. The vast grey domain of the sky seemed to engulf the caravan of winged creatures. Frair was making prayer when we saw it happen.

A little winged creature, not any bigger than the nightstand there, began to wobble in the sky. It seemed to be reaching out to grasp onto another hand to help it steady it's flight and to keep itself with the group, but it missed right as the storm began to rage. A large wind tore the little body from the sky just as the mother reached back to take it into her arms. We watched in stupified horror as the flailing wings covered the wild body being tossed and thrown around by the wind. Some cried out and pointed and the others burst into prayer and pressed their faces to the window. We hoped that the little wings would start pumping again and they'd lift into the air to catch up in the grey sky to the winged carnival, but to no avail. The little body fell, cast into the ground like a toy which no longer interested the short attention span of the storm. The group of avariels however did not stop, they must've not heard our prayers. They continued flying through the storm, arms over their faces and flying so close to each other that their wings touched and moved in sync. They did not notice the falling little body. They did not see as the crumbled body fell into the snow about a quarter of a mile outside of the town. They did not care.

But we did.

Upon the sudden disappearance of the winged body into the gaping mouth of the snow, all seven of us burst into movement. We rushed to the coat racks and threw on jackets and snow gear. We didn't even care who's jacket we picked up as long as it fit and we all got one. Even the Friar came along, slipping quickly into snow gear and ordering us to march in an orderly fashion.

We ran instead.

We braced ourselves against the cold of the storm as we forced open the doors and we charged into the white sludge of the snow. Against the roaring wind and against the biting snow, we trudged through. It took us a good half an hour to make it from the church, through the town, and to the outside of the town and to the area where we had seen the body fall, but at least we had made it.

And not a moment too soon.

We spread out, everyone taking up own areas to search, to dig through the snow to find the avariel. In our time trying to get there, the body was already quickly covered with the icy white blanket. We were searching for maybe twenty minutes, about to give up hope, when my hand reached through the snow to feel something warm. It was the cheek of the fallen avariel. I looked up and squinted my eyes to see the frozen stiff wings, popping up just slightly out of the snow. What I had thought was a frozen bush was actually the tips of the avariel's wings. I plunged my arms into the snow and searched for a while before I was able to pull up the body from the snow. All the meanwhile I was shouting through the wailing wind, 'I found the avariel!'

Once the body was in my arms, I wiped the snow from the avariel's pale frosted face to find it was a boy. A little boy with icy blue hair and white and black dots on his cheeks. Frozen tears also dotted his face and he looked sad, hurt, and cold. I remember as the others ran up through the snow and helped me with this little avarien boy. They took off their cloaks and wrapped the little boy as he laid in my arms. I remember once that the boy opened his eyes and looked up at me, but he soon fell again into sleep. We noticed that his wings were fractured, there were cuts and bruises from the ice and hail, and he was coming down with a serious cold. So, crowded into a moving mass, my friends and I took the little avarien boy back into the town and into the church where we cared for him, where he grew up, singing in the church choir and working as an unhired apprentice..." -Donathon Antonio

[Banner-Friends and Family]

High Cardinal Aerona-Eriond doesn't know her very well, but she is the one who gave him his name and allowed him to live in the church as an orphan. There are rare times when Eriond comes into her presence and when that does happen, Eriond is very solemn, quiet, and cringes as if straining underneath her power of influence.

Donathon Antonio-Otherwise known as Don, this twenty one year old acolyte has proclaimed himself the adopted caretaker (older brother) to Eriond. He's very honest, straightforward, and blunt. Also known as sagittarius. He tends to play a lot with his words and sometimes can't help himself but speak his mind without thinking.

Symph and Rosa-Meeting upon a chance encounter with Eriond in the marketplace, this couple (*shot*) helped out the little avariel with his fear of shopping. Eriond really likes Rosa (And thinks she's pretty *shot again*) and her companion Symph. He hopes to meet with them again.
