Don't take it for granted ever, your freedom is one step away from being taken away anytime.

Read it in the paper. Love how he talks about the freedom of press in his country and then follows up with this.

It's always depressing to see people (especially political figures) taking such giant steps backwards in this day and age~ You always just assume stuff like this is way too past it's expiration date to occur again~ Sad.

Chavez calls for a new socialist revolution but it's fascism. People outside of Venezuela comment on how great Chavez is doing but they've never set foot in Venezuela. You see so many street beggars and homeless children sniffing glue at almost every corner. Then you have to ask yourself, where is the socialist revolution for the poor? Isn't socialism the protection and universal care of every human? It just shows that socialism fails without sound democratic principles. Chavez made a mistake in attacking the students from junior high to university level. He made the mistake of shutting down the most watched television station by attacking it with absolutely no substantial constitutional backing thus showing his true face to the world. This is fascism, plain and simple.

I could post so many pictures of people wearing zippers, tape, muzzles, etc on their mouths. They carry the true 7 star Venezuelan flag upside down as in an SOS message. The students raise their hands and stand on their knees in silent protest whenever police start shooting rubber bullets and shooting smoke gas canisters at them. A true civil and peaceful protest.

I am so angry at Carter for allowing this to occur with all his stupid lies and deceit.

You can watch how this supposedly socialist revolution attacks innocent people and in the back,. This is the plain truth and how they will continue attacking innocent people, next time they'll use real bullets instead of rubber bullets.

Edit: Warning, if you are afraid of violence and innocent people screaming in fright, please avoid the video below.

Sorry if this post is an almost incoherent ramble but I have to say again and repeat, don't take freedom for granted ever! Especially Americans, King George has authorized himself to declare himself the dictator when a catastrophe occurs in the US.

I'd like to post a video taken yesterday where a tank and several armed National Guard with Ak-74's stand watching a peaceful march.

There are lots of these videos on YouTube. The tv station RCTV now broadcasts on YouTube their news program.

If this wasn't enough, the recently forced take over private telephone and ISP company, CANTV, blocks IP and DNS servers of opposition news sites based from inside and offshore alike.
