I...don't have a camera anymore!!! crying

The school years almost over with so our film camera's are locked up, plus I'm graduating so I won't have access to my Aunt's camera when I move out.

Just being without one now, down at my boyfriend's house is killing me gonk

So I was wondering where the best place to buy a camera would be, either online or offline, AND what would be the best one to get inexpensively.

EBay is the only place that comes to mind online..
you could try second hand stores for film cameras...
but for digital the best would be a trustworthy place.
cause those are more than likely to stuff up,
and unlike a film camera you cant fiddle around with it until it works right.
well an OLD film camera...

B & H is a pretty good store. Buying cameras from them is cheaper than buying from a chain store, like Best Buy or Ritz, even with the shipping cost factored in. And there's no sales tax for residents living outside of New York and New Jersey.

I personally prefer offline. But not at a place like Circuit City or Best Buy. There's a store in my town that specifically sells cameras, and thats what I prefer. It's sort of a community photography center, so when you go there to buy lenses or cameras the people have professional advice and such.

Thats where I get my cameras. Of course I do realize that I am extremely lucky to have a place like that near me, and it's probably unlikely that you'll be able to find one near you. Good luck though.

If you're going to use bestbuys.com make sure you read the store reviews and the reviews at other websites that rate stores. Some of these stores that offer the best deal don't always turn out to be trustworthy businesses.

Yeah, often stores on sites such as bestbuys end up being untrustworthy. Sure, you may be getting a great deal on a camera, but consider that what seems to be to good to be true, probably is. Sure, that Canon 1d is selling for 10 bucks, but the store is renowned for not delivering and stealing money.

I agree that BH Photo/Video is a great place online. And actually, they AREN'T expensive. In fact, they're cheaper than a lot of places. Adorama is also good, but I find that BH has more selection, is easier to navigate, and has better customer service.

If you're looking for older cameras, then eBay is always good.

I bought mine at Best Buy, but it was over a year ago. I'm not sure if they have good film cameras anymore

I like small local stores instead of supporting Ritz or Best Buy type stores just to support your local economy but if you're going online Adorama or B & H are the very best. If something looks like a really good deal ~ be sure to look up the store so you don't get f'd by a bad company. Places like geniusphoto are known to sell greymarket cameras and the like. Buyer beware!

Don't forget to check out Amazon.com. I purchased my camera as well as some camera equipment from Amazon at an incredible price. Not to mention they often have a plethora of reviews you can check out.
