Photography: Beautiful, silent. A picture's worth a thousand words, they say.

Here's some rules and guidelines for you to follow:

Don't flame another person's piece! That's just unkind AND it doesn't help an artist at all! You may be confused on what's flaming and what's criticism. Flaming is bad, criticism (even if it's a harsh or monotone) is good.

Don't spam. Spam is saying any random thing that comes to mind, without a stimulus. Spamming is bad, and bad gets you banned.

Don't post your work in another person's thread. This is called "thread hijacking." It takes a critic's attention away from a piece. If you want your art to be given attention, make your own thread.

Don't make threads for other people to post their work. That's just silly. Posting your artwork is what the entire forum is for.

Post only YOUR artwork. Even if you have permission from the original artist, this forum is for posting YOUR WORK only. Why would you want someone to criticize a piece you didn't do? That wouldn't help you, now would it?

Don't bring up dead threads. This is called "thread necromancy." The artist has probably gotten all the feedback they wanted and let the thread die.

Keep your threads current. Don't recycle the same thread for days and days and have a gazillion pages worth of feedback. That's severely frowned upon by our moderators.

Don't create a contest here. This forum is for criticizing other member's artwork so they can help and become better artists. If you want to make an art contest, go to the Art Contests Forum

Have fun! heart
