do you think what sirius said was relevent to what might happen in the seventh book? Harry spared wormtails life and wormtail became in his debt, so could it be possible that wormtail might die protecting harry.

Ooh, a good one! Honestly, although I hate the idea, I do think Wormtail will try to do something to repay his life-debt to Harry. I'm beginning to like Peter a little more everyday, due to multiple fics I've read where he's actually a decent guy. You know, the fics of the Marauder variety. ^^; But, maybe Peter will remember how much of a good friend James was, and how much he cared about good ol' Prongs and he'll do something BIG, like sacrifice his life to save Harry.

Well, Wormtail still has that life-debt to pay off - I don't think JK would include something as big as that and then not resolve it.

Because as we've already scene in her six other books with Snape and the life-debt he is repaying James through helping Harry, much to his dislike, this is a very big deal. She wouldn't bring something up like a life-debt and then just leave it because she thought it sounded suspenseful and interesting. I think Wormtail should sacrifice his life for Harry, without killing Remus. At all. Ever.

Oh God, during my second period spare yesterday, Diana and Kat were all going on about how Remus is going to die because he's the last of the Marauders, and he's bound to die by Wormtail's silver hand. I was so sad. Honest to God, if Remus dies, I won't be seen for a month. I'll hide myself away in my room.

Anyways, Back On Topic, yeah, I figure Wormtail will do something, but I'm not sure that it will be in a way where he redeems himself. I don't think so.
I read an interesting fic once where Harry was caught be Wormtail, and Wormtail brought Harry to Voldie. Harry was like "you owe me a life-debt!" and Wormtail was like "I didn't kill you when I found you. Debt repayed." and then abandoned Harry to be killed by Voldie.
Dunno if that made sense the way I typed it. But, yeah. Clever idea.

And, honestly, when I first thought about it the situation, I completely agreed with you, Kat. But, I don't think JKR would make it such a big deal in the third book when Sirius says it, and make it such a deal throughout the series with Snape and James, and then not make it a big deal with Peter and Harry. Unless she plans on trying to throw us all off. I have a feeling that Pettigrew will show his Gryffindor colors in this book, and prove to the world why he was sorted into that house and not any of the other houses.
