Hello there!
So, I see you're in my subforum. Good for you. biggrin
I guess I should tell you what I'm planning for it in the future, eh? Alright, here's the idea: I'm going to turn this place into a kind of role playing discussion/story area.
Yep, that's right, the Byaggha is loving the RP.
So, when things get up and running, expect threads on such diverse topics as Dungeons and Dragons, Shadowrun, oldschool World of Darkness stuff, World of Warcraft lore and role playing, character creation (both realistic and over the top personalities), discussions of favourite classes and races for any and all pen and paper RP stuff, good books you've read that're set in various universes, and possibly a character of the day thread, in which I will throw down sheets for some of my personal favourites.
We shall see.
Stay tuned! ninja

Blah, hate to soil this thread with more questions, but are Text RPGs allowed in this forum?

Solvent Solution Blah, hate to soil this thread with more questions, but are Text RPGs allowed in this forum? *disappears into the shadows* As in RP threads? Sure, so long as they're literate, avoid god-mode moments, follow Gaia's rules/TOS and have some semblance of organization to 'em. I likes the RP, I see no reason to restrict it to anything outside those basic rules. 3nodding

Question: I was thinking up some kind of RP system in which would prevent Godmod in the sense of taking damage using that dice system that Gaia posts have. Anyone interested in helping in building and taking care the kinks with me on this little project?
I'm hoping once a good system is set, we could perhaps create a forum-wide RPG text/dice arena fight to see who fate will decide as champion of the arena. *shrugs* though this is still in its seed stage...

Sounds nifty, Maku. The problem is, dice systems occasionally restrict the more free-flow ideas people like in forum games. It'd be a neat project though, if you could get the dice to work and still allow for free RPing. 3nodding

Do we need permission from you to start an RPG? Or can we just "go nuts" as you pleasantly put it?
I just wanted to know is all. Thanks!

Right, I have been trying to answer that last post for almost four days now; Gaia keeps eating my response. Here's to hoping it actually goes through today.
No, you don't have to run RPs past me to start them - they're your creations, go ahead and make them. In relation to this, you're allowed to run as many of them as you can handle - be reasonable with it, but if you think you can run 12 and have all of them be of the same relative quality, go for it. biggrin
I have no restriction on plots and what happens in games aside from those which Gaia does - nothing outside TOS standard, please, or I will be forced to close it.
Otherwise, the only rules that apply were the ones posted in the rules post.
But yes, as you quoted me on it, go nuts! heart
