The rainbow sign hung on the desk of the English teacher Ms. Jax. She usually sat at her desk leaning back in her reclinable chair. She always had an outfit on that popped. Like the rainbow sign she was as different as the colors are from each other. She was a lively, enthusiastic girl always looking on the bright side of things. And even though she looked young she was very experienced in the subject that she taught. The desks were aligned in a circle. Her desk was at the far left side of the classroom and there was a white board in the back and front of the class. And even though she was a teacher she really did act like a student. But the students would come to know that in time.....

Ms. Jax snuggled in the middle of the class room taking her daily afternood nap. She held her blue pillow close to her and murmered softly in her sleep.

Ross slipped into the classroom, a vagrant shadow that curled along the edges of the room before settling into a seat.

The rainbow sign glimmered slightly in the corners of her vison, so very...she frowned and pursed her lips. Odd. Decidedly odd. The whole school was odd.

So very foolish, she chided herself, what's wrong with you, hey? She looked straight at it and smiled-- no colors danced and waved to their own tune. Ross smiled, not particularly in a happy fashion, but just to give her lips something to do.

She liked literature--this would certainly be an experience.

*walks in and puts a note on the teachers desk that reads*

Students must stay in their dorms after 6pm because then night students will get peace and quiet.

Thanks

Ms. Jax opened one eye and then jumped up. She straitened out her black skirt and smiled standing tall. Ms. Jax was actually quite pretty. She had a playful look to her. Her black hair was hung loosely going slightly past her shoulders. She had bright green eyes and soft ivory skin. Her lips had a soft pink tint to them from her lipgloss and rainbow hoops hung in her ears. By far Ms. Jax dressed oddly but somehow it worked for her. A white buttoned fitten blouse was only buttoned at the bottom reavealing a black top with rainbow stripes on it. She wore a short black skirt with rainbow kneehighs and black closed toe heels. Yes she was strange but it suited her personality.....today. She smiled warmly at the girl ad tossed er pillow and blanket behind her desk in one swift movement.
"Readers are plentiful; thinkers are rare. Harriet Martineau, an English writer and Philosopher and a woman."
She smiled.
"So tell me, whats your name and have you come to read...or think?"

Ross quirked her lips at the woman's question, so it seemed that she was already to be put to the test. She ran a hand over her hair meditatively, then spoke, "Really, I can neither discern nor differentiate between the two; in my mind they are synonymous. Short-sighted perhaps, but true."

The smile came through a little clearer and she leaned back. "What of you, teach? To teach or to learn?"

Ms. Jax sat on the desl across from her on the other side of the room.
"Really, I see it as their the smae thing, synonyms. And its not short sided my dear, its just a way of looking at the world. And you know, seeing the world differently is never wrong, ever."
She smiled.
"Teaching is the same as learning, no matter what your telling someone your always going to learn something new from it right? Well, I always learn something new every day. So teaching is just a new way to learn."

Unbidden, a grin rose to her lips; she could like this woman.

"Touche," Ross said, willing the grin to fade but her lips still twitched and the expression was clear in her clear eyes, "So what do you think you'll be having us learn here? Indeed, what would you have us teach?"

*sits at a desk* How come there are no teachers for Night Students..... stare

Ms. Jax shrugged.
"Well seeing as it IS a literature class I figure we can start off with poetry...and then maybe go on to deep meanigful converstaions about whatever we want. i want to do alot of feildtrips to where, I'm not sure probably have you guys decide that....and then what I want you to teach me...welll, I think you'll just have to figure that on your own!"
She smiled and looked at her second student.
"Actually, I do both night and day classes. Why i have no clue but i just couldnt choose which one I liekd best! So, I take naps between classes....and eat when I want to."
She sighed.
"Its a hard life but I'll manage. Now as for your name?"

Ross gave a little smile and shrugged as if to say, 'poetry? What of it?'

"Fieldtrips?" She asked, curiosity piqued, "Sounds like fun!"

Thumbing through to a blank sheet of paper in her notebook, she set her pen as a placeholder for later and smiled up at Ms. Jax. "Okay, are we taking notes?"

Ms. Jax blinked and got down from the desk sliding slowly.
"Yes, I guess you should....I talk fast and I get off subject alot too, so I may have to borrow your notes...."
She stroked her chin with her index finger and laughed.
"Well, poetry! There we go. Good start for class, boring yes but a good start non the less."

Eyes glimmering with humor, Ross affected mock hurt, "You don't like poetry?"

She sniffled into her shirt cuff in ill-concealed humor and turned away presumably to go console her self with an illicit love-affair: Keats.

*walks in class and sits down behind one of the desks, she was fed up with her vanishing class, , they couldnt learn at all so she fell asleep, head on desk, the reading soothed her, her hair was long sleek raven colored, fell down her back like a water fall, up to her hips, eyes closed and her light blue makeup matched her jean skirt, and blue tank top that had lace on it. her eyes opened after and hour or so reveiling her dark green eyes, her fox ears twitched as she heard her class stomping down the hall, she wagged her tail in worry, then she got up* oh dear they are on the look out, i thought i could hide but.....*then she vanished*
