What are some ways to soothe a stinging tongue piercing?

i had mine done 2 days ago, and it stings too
i'm just drinking really cold water and taking ibuprofen.
i've drunk bout 7 pints today xd
you could try ice cubes, or ice pops. ice cream aint so good though, as it involves swallowing.

Thanks, we've een using ice cubes or awhile now and it helps a little. It's my gf who's got her tongue pierced, she just got vemons and she says they hurt so bad she wants to take them out. It's the 3rd day she's had them. So if anyone has any more advice about how to get them to stop hurting an stinging, it'd be great....

Ibuprofen or Alive and anything cold. Smoke as little as possible and don't use straws for the first 72 hours. Both can cause pain/swelling.
