While not the Official site, it's still pretty darn good. It has everything Firefly.

It is(was) a sci-fi western

After we had used up Earth, man moved out into the galaxy and colonizes a portion of it.

An Alliance government grows into a totalitarian regime and part of the systems rebel, they are defeated and the show starts with the captain named Malcolm Reynolds leading a small crew on an old rag-tag ship, named Serenity as they fly around doing independent work legal and otherwise to make ends meet.

They pick up a brother and sister pair who are on the run from the Alliance and a "Shepard" (read preacher of sorts) who ends up being more than he seems...

thats my take on it, there is also this from IMDB:

Captain Malcom 'Mal' Reynolds is a former galactic war veteran who is the captain of the transport ship "Serenity", Mal his crew of hired transporters, Mal's ensign Zoe Warren, Zoe's husband, pilot Hoban 'Wash' Washburne, muscular former combat soldier Jayne Cobb, young engineer Kaylee Frye, former Alliance medical officer Simon Tamm, his teenage sister River (Both on-the-run from the Interplanetary government "The Alliance"), the beautiful "companion" Inara Serra and religious man Shepard Book do legal or illegal jobs (smuggling, protecting, guns-for-hire, robberies) as the Serenity crew travels across the outskirts of Outer Space for food, money, anything to make a living on, as The Serenity crew tries to stay under the radar of The Alliance and pulls dangerous jobs in the Alliance controlled star systems. Written by Daniel Williamson

Hope that helps some my lady!

It is, much more, if Buffy was not the 1st thing I saw of Joss' I might like Firefly even more than Buffy...Firefly I like a little more but there is not much to watch, lots of Buffy-goodness to watch, quote, laugh at and with... So Buffy wins by the amount of Joss goodness rolled up into it.

The movie was top-notch, though Joss got a little too happy with the let's kill peeps so the fans go OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Serenity closed alot of hanging plot lines, it explained River's past and what the Alliance had done to her...It also explained how the Reavers came to be.

I wonder if Joss will ever do a Firefly comic.

He did do a 3 issue set of comics that came between the last aired episode and the movie, it was called Serenity: Those left behind.

I just read this too!:

It has been recently confirmed that Joss Whedon will re team with Brett Matthews to write Serenity: Better Days for Dark Horse comics to be released in the fall of 2007 as we see what happens when a heist goes right and the crew finds themselves on easy street. "This new story will take place in the 'Firefly' years i.e., everyone's alive," says Whedon. "Basically, they pull off a heist and everything doesn't go completely wrong. This, needless to say, has never happened, and it's about how they deal with success."
