Should each character get their own thread, or should each writer get their own thread for all their character stuff?

This happens sometimes, but here's an idea I want to throw past you people.

I have many characters. I also have many stories about them. The question was this:

Should we do separate threads for each character you've got chronicles for, or should it all be one giant writer's thread for each person with a character/characters who've got stories?

That is to say, should my dwarf hunter and my human cleric each get their own thread, or should they all be put in one thread of my work?

Let the people decide! The polls will be open for a week, after which the popular opinion rules. heart

I vote for one thread, one author or perhaps one thread for ALL profiles. If we allow it the other way, it is possible to clutter the forum with characters people make but don't use. *shrugs* Just my 2 yen pieces.

A valid point. Though it wasn't just going to be for profiles; it's sort of a shared portfolio with the writer's forum now that I'm thinking about it. Like, character basics, history...and other stories about them.

We shall see how it goes, though.

Thanks for the input! domokun

usually if I make an RP there's a single post in which all the characters of that RP are stored...unless you're talking about something else, in which case I should be quiet.

Nah, it wasn't like that. It was more a repository idea, for characters not tied to currently running RPs/stories outside their scope. F'rinstance, I didn't mean you needed HAD TO MUST post all your bios and stories from every RP ever, including the ones currently running. Especially for those, really - in fact, I think that throwing those outside the thread they're part of might make it more difficult to find them at all.

What I was wondering was should all those loose stories and characters from different RPs be left to a thread for each, or one giant thread for each author in which to list all their loose stories and characters for perusal by others. 3nodding

Okay due to the fact that I've got like 50+ characters I'd say have one thread for each writers. Histories bios and everything, but I think they should all have the same organization to them, meaning they should have like a table of contents and certain things should be required for each character profile and that it should all be in a specific order, yadda ya, so that when you search characters you don't have to worry about each writer having a different organization or no organization at all.

Alright, poll should be closing soon if it hasn't already - looks like it's one thread to a writer, should you want one. So go ahead and make your thread if you feel the need! domokun
