Chainmail, Chainmaille, Maille, how ever you decide to spell or say it, works.
I am currently working on a hauberk, it is stainless steel, 14 ga. and i am making it 6 in 1 weave. I will show pictures as i have them. When it is finished, it will have half sleeves, be knee length and based on my best guess will weigh in around 75 pounds 3nodding

It currently ways around 25 pounds and is less then 1/3 done: The last image shows were i need to do a little repair work.My cutting skills are still low, and i had cut several bad rings and did not notice it until i had put them on the chainmail. I buy coils from theringlord.com if you want to know.

Zamiel_Aesir How long's it taking you? Also, what sport are you active in for need of Chain-Maille? currently, its about 30 hours of work. thats counting time i have spent cutting rings off of the coil. I am currently fighting in only amtgard, my chain is worth six points armor there. I may join sca later, if my chain is within the requirments of their rules. But for now, only amtgard

When it comes to chainmaile I tend to avoid it because of the uneven Expence vs weight ratio. However, Brig on the otherhand, if made properly will evenly distribute its weight and will save you the aches and pains of chain.
Plus chainmaile gets 3 points of armor value in Amtgard where as my brig gets 6.

This is a project that I worked on for about a straight week of boredom. And this is my latest project.

It looks spectacular! 6-1 seems like it would take a lot of links. Do you make your own, or do you get them pre-made?
Can't wait to see it completed!
Can't wear chainmaile myself. I'm top heavy enough as it is. Fighting in chainmaile only makes it worse. Found this out the hard way. I've face planted more times than I care to count in the stuff. Only leather armor for me ^_^.

Awesome! I need to get around to making me some more coils so I can make my men some armor.
Where do you get your coils? Maybe I'll just get um from your supplier. ^_^
